As Americans it often seems there is less that binds us together and brings civic pride. Enter the Golden State Warriors and Steph Curry. Hard not to watch the greatness of Curry, with an element of humbleness rare in superstars, and feel pride. The Warriors have built a dynasty that shows signs of continuing. Last night was spectacular and congrats to all those who enjoyed the ride.

The Timberwolves passed on Curry to take Johnny Flynn and then take Ricky Rubio. I cry a little every time I watch him. Early on people thought he was fragile. I guess not.

Steph is brilliance. Four rings in eight years, and for a couple of those titles, he didn't have another superstar to play alongside. Jordan had Pippen. Kobe had Shaq. Steph basically won this series by himself. A humble superstar does not come around often. Steph is that person. His performance, particularly in this series, was as good as it gets. He up there with Jordan and LeBron. Doesn't matter what team you pull for, its almost impossible to pull against Steph. Great performance. I agree, he is not done. And don't forget Steve Kerr. Brilliant coach.

Yeah, that’s gotta be tough as a T-Wolves fan. Like you said, choosing not just one but two point guards instead of Curry. And then you have Andrew Wiggins. The reality is Wiggins isn’t built to be a #1 alpha male but when you get selected with the first pick that’s what is expected of you. He has absolutely excelled in his role with the Warriors.

I agree on Wiggins. He wasn't going to play Robin to Towns. He seems to be very comfortable in his role with the Warriors. Truthfully, watching this years Wolves team felt pretty damn good. Anthony Edwards is going to be a stone cold killer, D'Angelo Russell is beginning to really understand what his role needs to be, and the Wolves have put a management team in place that has a real chance at building a winner. My hope is that they learned a lot from a series against Memphis that they absolutely should have won. Tough lesson, losing double digit fourth quarter leads in three of those games, but I'm hopeful. Steph would have dismissed them in the second round anyway. A guy like Steph just doesn't come around very often, and it really hurts when you miss on them.
 
I'm not a Warriors fan - but it was a joy watching them play over the past couple of months, and in this final series. Just beautiful basketball. Curry is the most unique superstar - he belongs in the top 10 of all time, but his game is different from other all timers.

He had his best games on the road, too.

Shout out to the Celtics, too. I don't like Boston teams as a rule, but when they were on, they were also great to watch just purely from a basketball perspective.

You guys have an exciting young team. They are a lot of fun to watch. (I’m a fan of Jordan McLaughlin as he’s a Trojan. Seems like a solid role player.)

And yes, Steve Kerr is a hell of a coach. Five titles as a player now four as a coach. He’s for real.

I was rooting Celtics, but, when you pass the ball less effectively than a high school team, you're probably not going to win a championship.

I like Curry and Thompson a lot. It's just Green and Congressman Kerr who annoy me.

Many years back my Badgers were playing in the NCAA tournament and they were matched up against a small school. Davidson I believe. I and everyone else thought,.....big blowout coming,...easy Badger victory even on cruise control. And then.........I was introduced to Mr Curry for the 1st time. :whoa: HOLLLLLLLLY SHIT that little SOB couldnt miss! They beat us.....for the most part from Curry just DRAINING shot after shot from downtown. Just couldnt stop him. What a player!
 
If my boys from Brew city would have had Middleton playing and not out for the whole Boston series Im thinking that would have been a GREAT series. 50/50 the Bucks win it.

Everything. Who doesnt ?,...its a VERY simple game. Not that big of a fan really. More of a football guy,....its a thinking mans game.

Curry is such a nice guy, I like how he pays attention to his youngest fans!
 
I havent been a very big fan at all since the Days of Magic battling Larry year after year. All the rule changes,...the 3 pointers,....the no defense,....the traveling every other play. YUCK. I miss the big boys packed in tight and going at it like Blood Sport. THE CHIEF Robert Parish and Kevin Mchale, Lambier and Mahorn, Moses FO FO FO Malone,....Naw,....I know nothing of Basketball. :rolleyes:
 
I know nothing of Basketball..:laugh: Thats why I remember guys like Rick Barry and heres a blast from the past....Joe Barry Carrol playing for the Warriors.
 
Lastly,.......my very first memories of pro basketball were of Lew Alcinder, Jon mcgloctin, Bobby Dandridge and Lucius Allen winning a championship for the Bucks and coached by Larry Costello. ok....enuff gloating. :)

Warriors fans used to call him Joe “Barely Cares”. He was an enigma
