In any case, a HUGE part of the reason for the high price of gasoline right now is the fact that under unfettered capitalism (such as we have right now in the United States)...the number one duty of EVERY corporation is to make as much money as possible for the shareholders.
No corporation under this system has an obligation to the general public...or to the national interests.
And the oil companies right now are making the highest profits ever in their histories. The conditions are just right for them to do so.
Their interests right now are, "Fuck the people and fuck the national interests. We will have conservative America backing us, because conservative America does not give a shit about "the people" or "national interests."
