Then why release it.its a strategic reserve and releasing 675k barrels a day does nothing on price or supplies

I always find it interesting how many on the right have a shallow understanding on oil, forget the economics involved, I found it was inane even attempting to explain it to most, the reality, simple fact, is that oil companies are not national, they serve a global community, even today, when some as we see here are talking about tapping the reserves, the US, companies with US addresses, is the third largest oil exporter in the world
(https://www.investopedia.com/articl...mirates surpassed,spot, based on 2020 figures.)
we have used some of this reserve successfully in the past with SHORT TERM disruptions in supply.I don't have enough information to leap to an informed judgement.
I would think release it because it would help bring gas prices down. Am I wrong?
look at teh price at the pump which has been subject to releasesI would think release it because it would help bring gas prices down. Am I wrong?
look at that beautiful blue up swing to the curve under Trump!we became the largest oil producer in 2018 under Trump and have been declining in production ever since Biden got elected......

lolYour graph shows the upward trend in domestic Oil production started at an inflection point in 2011 and rapidly increased from there. Trump wasn't president until 2017.
