Political Theater

It's frustrating that nobody pushes the issue. I get that as a Constitutional matter he can always plead the fifth -- implicitly admitting that he did something illegal and that telling the truth about his actions would incriminate him. That's fine. But he should be forced to make that plea, rather than being allowed to simply decline an invitation. And that goes back to the Mueller "investigation," at least. It's utterly fucking insane that Mueller was tasks with looking into Trump campaign complicity with Russia's election interference, and he couldn't be bothered to even try to make the main conspirator answer a single question under oath. Everyone acts like it's a national priority to make sure Trump never has to testify under oath, or even to plead the fifth. I get why his lawyer is trying to protect him from himself, but why are others doing so?

It's not like this is normal. Like even when it's something utterly trivial, like Hillary Clinton's decision to use a private email server for work, we have sworn testimony in front of Congress. Even Ronald Reagan testified about the Iran/Contra criminal conspiracy (even if he mostly just answered "I can't recall.") But Trump is treated as if he were a king, who had to be regarded as inherently immune to questioning.

It is frustrating. Both Clintons were called before congress and testified. The difference is, neither had anything to hide, they did nothing wrong, but that didn't stop the Republican Taliban from trying to dig up dirt.

I know Bill was impeached, but what he was impeached for had nothing to do with how he governed. Also, he was acquitted.

Finally, a congressional hearing is not like a courtroom proceeding. I know you're under oath, but I don't think you can take the 5th. All you can do what Bill Barr did and just pretend you don't understand the questions.

Yes. The more time goes on, the sillier it looks that Clinton was impeached for lying about a consensual personal relationship.

Tucker is such a sensitive prima donna.

No, he's not sensitive. He's a soulless demon willing to destroy America in order to line his pockets. Fox just would rather not see him embarrassed by a guest because it would be bad for ratings.

Remember Alan Combs? Hannity used to have a show with him, kind of like a debate show. But they always made sure Combs was unprepared and would not let him use makeup like all the others, so he'd look bad.

Fox news.. America's Pravda.

Did Hillary consent to the oral sex?

Mon-i-ca!

Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives on December 19, 1998, on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (first article, 228–206) and obstruction of justice.

But! He still had the courage and sense of duty to be a statesman, go before congress and let me American people see him do it. In return, Starr exploited it and posted the entire transcript, including specific sex acts on the internet. There was no legal reason to do that, Starr just wanted to hurt Clinton politically.

But.. even after that.. Hillary still went before congress several times over the Benghazi witch hunt. An inquiry designed only to harm Hillary politically. A repub was caught on a hot mike admitting it.

I do remember Alan and I liked him. Fox truly is our Pravda.

I mean I agree, but they were given the chance and refused, in what has to be the dumbest play available in their playbook. They wanted to A: be able to refuse subpoenas because let's face it, multiple republican senators and house members were more than happy to go along with the Trump shit show.

Or B: they wanted to be able to sit back and claim that the committee is partisan and just hope that the retards that support them forget that they had all the opportunity in the world to be part of it.

So far all the retards on this board claiming it's partisan theatre DID IN FACT forget that Republicans could have been part of the committee if they just voted on it, but that would have made "strategy A" much more difficult.

just go be a globalist dem moron.

Very well said. I see Starr as someone who felt like after he'd wasted millions of dollars and hundreds of man-years of staff effort on a fruitless attempt to find any wrongdoing by Clinton about Whitewater, felt like he had to deliver SOMETHING for his fellow Republicans. So, he gave up on trying to find anything related to the matter he'd been tasked to investigate, and instead went into the smut-peddling business, with the hope that the salaciousness of the material would distract from his utter failure to find anything worth mentioning.

Sorry, Phan, but Hillary knows she was in the wrong and lied about it. She knew the rules on classified material and felt she was above the rules. IMO, she was also very paranoid about leaving document trails. Her history explains why. LOL

Why hammer everyone from Petraeus to Manning for violating classified material protocols then give Hillary a pass? Because it was an election year? Or because Hillary literally owned the DNC? LOL

You cannot be serious!!!! :palm:

Petraeus stole top secret documents, took them home, stored them in an unlocked drawer and showed them to his girlfriend Paula Broadwell, who was writing a biography about him....

In the 15 page statement of facts filed by the government along with the plea agreement, the government stated that Petraeus had provided Broadwell access to documents containing Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information, had later moved those documents to his personal residence and stored them in an unsecured drawer, and had deliberately and intentionally lied to Federal investigators about both providing Broadwell access to the documents and their improper storage. These facts were acknowledged to be true by Petraeus as part of his plea agreement.

And Manning was guilty of much worse than that.....

On January 5, 2010, Manning downloaded the 400,000 documents that became known as the Iraq War logs.. On January 8, "she" downloaded 91,000 documents from the Afghanistan database, known later as part of the Afghan War logs. "She" saved the material on CD-RW and smuggled it through security by labeling the CD-RW media "Lady Gaga" and storing it in a Gaga CD case. "She" was lipsyncing to Lady Gaga music, to make it appear that "she" was using the classified computer's CD player to listen to music. "She" then copied it onto "her" personal computer. The next day, "she" wrote a message in a readme.txt file, which "she" told the court was initially intended for The Washington Post.

Manning copied the files from "her" laptop to an SD card for "her" camera so that "she" could take it with "her" to the United States while on R&R leave. Army investigators later found the SD card in Manning's basement room in "her" aunt's home, in Potomac, Maryland. On January 23, Manning flew to the United States via Germany, for two weeks of leave. It was during this visit that "she" first went out dressed as a woman, wearing a wig and makeup. After "her" arrest, Manning's friend Tyler Watkins told Wired that Manning had said during the visit that "she" had found some sensitive information and was considering leaking it. In 2021, Manning said that while home on leave in 2010, "she" had reached out to "her" then-Congressman, Chris Van Hollen, but got no response.

Manning contacted The Washington Post and The New York Times to ask if they were interested in the material; the Post reporter did not sound interested, and the Times did not return the call. Manning decided instead to pass it to WikiLeaks, and on February 3 sent them the Iraq and Afghan War logs via Tor. "She" returned to Iraq on February 11, with no acknowledgment from WikiLeaks that they had received the files.

On or around February 18, "she" passed WikiLeaks a diplomatic cable, dated January 13, 2010, from the U.S. Embassy in Reykjavík, Iceland. They published it within hours, which suggested to Manning that they had received the other material, too. "She" found the Baghdad helicopter attack ("Collateral murder") video in a Judge Advocate's directory and passed it to WikiLeaks on or around February 21. In late March, "she" sent them a video of the May 2009 Granai airstrike in Afghanistan; this was the video later removed and apparently destroyed by Daniel Domscheit-Berg when he left the organization.

Between March 28 and April 9, "she" downloaded the 250,000 diplomatic cables and on April 10, uploaded them to a WikiLeaks dropbox.

And that^^^^ is what you're trying to equate Hillary's private, home based email server to?????

Gawd, you Hillary hater freaks go to some insane lengths to impugn that woman!!!!!! :palm:

Get a grip on reality, son.

State Department releases classified emails from Clinton aide Huma Abedin found on Anthony Weiner's computer.

Consider, if you will...Hillary’s classified emails ended up on the pedophile’s computer.

Consider, if you will...Hillary’s classified emails ended up on the pedophile’s computer.

Several of the released documents were found to contain information classified “confidential,” and were heavily redacted.

....the FBI believes it is reasonable to conclude that most of the emails found on Mr. Weiner’s laptop computer related to the Clinton investigation occurred as a result of a backup of personal electronic devices, with a small number a result of manual forwarding by Ms. Abedin to Mr. Weiner.”

BFD.

Of course Hillary blamed her sexual predator husband’s problems were “a vast right wing conspiracy.”

I think you're giving Starr too much credit for being a human being. Starr's role and function was that of a reputation hit man. He was a mercenary turned loosed on Clinton to try to hurt his reelection chances. When he realized White Water was a dead end - exactly like you said. He terrified that young woman, Monica Lewinsky, locked her in a DC hotel room and drilled her. The one thing I don't hear anyone talk about - why the f didn't she shut the f up and get an attorney? Answer.. Starr must have lied to her and talked her out of it somehow.. he probably said something like, "if you get an attorney things are going to get much worse for you" or something like that, I'm sure.

Oh, and let us not forget Starr was a buddy of a guy by the name of Jeffery Epstein. Was on his defense team for that sex trafficking case. Good guy Starr. Satan is certainly waiting on him!

I didn't say they committed a crime beforehand...I said they were spreading the Big Lie and clearly defending Trump no matter what and denying what happened on Jan 6th at all costs so what purpose would it serve to put them on the committee? You and I both know all they would do is corrupt the whole process and ensure it was a failure. I mean you all want it to be a failure anyhow, right, so why are you complaining if you are already insisting it's a failure?

you're presuming criminality. you're still doing it.
