Well, ok. Did you see my algebra problem. Kids in England do play Grand Theft Auto you know. America's not unque in that regard. So.. I guess to agree with you I would have to say that love of violent video games and movies is not unique to America.

So what's the "X"?

Just think if America had one set of laws for guns, a national database of who has them.

We would be a lot safer, but as I said, the Republicans won't even allow background checks. These are facts.

I disagree, sometimes the messenger is the big problem, look at Fox, OANN, Newsmax, Breitbart, Infowars, imagine what it would be like if these propaganda machines did not exist.

It is not possible to show thousands of hours of video in one evening. The House Select Committee did a good job of selecting clips that reinforced the conclusion that DT incited the insurrection as part of his illegal attempts to overturn the free and fair election.

The loopholes need to be closed. Gun shows, private sales and bequeathments need to be subject to complete background checks including examining social media posts. And there needs to be psyche tests to determine the prospective gun owner is responsible and cares about protecting life.

They act like this is one and done. They will continue to hold hearings and they are continuing to interview people. This is far from over. The only thing that will stop it is if Republicans win in November, and they will immediately shut it down because they aren’t interested i. How many of their own tried to stop the transfer of power.

The hearings are unlikely to change most views. The main purpose appears to be an appeal to the DOJ to bring charges against those responsible for January 6th.

I'll just reiterate, and then perhaps we should move on. It's not about "views". "Views" in the face of facts are just views. You always go with the facts.

Now, again. I don't think Sawyer "views" the 1/6 findings as illegitimate. I think he's trolling us or trying to get others to believe the findings are not real in order to discredit the findings. twump and Fox did it during every investigation and impeachment. It's like obstruction of justice.

Capitalists use whatever means available to get attention. Shocking things such as violence sell. It's really a cheap shallow shameful trick. We have had enough of it. It is so overdone.

I think it would be better to promote more mature mindsets in America. Many are totally turned off by 'shoot 'em up' movies and such. And part of that is because the film industry has gotten so good at shock factor. It has become too much for many. It's just not entertaining any more.

We just need more people to transcend above revenge, greed and hatred. There is a very interesting big wide world out there but far too many Americans are hung up on very shallow violent dispute.

Evince and I have gone around and around on that. We need a free press to ensure our freedom. If we advocate for the government to pick and choose which information sources are to be allowed we enter dangerous territory. That would justify it if a right wing controlled government wanted to eliminate all BUT those propaganda sources. The Third Reich did that. Putin has done it. N Korea does it. China does it.

We can't be like that. We pay a dear price for our 1st Amendment rights, but it is still worth it. A free press is better than a government controlled one. Freedom is not free.

I think the main thing hateful Americans miss: is that it takes both sides to make this country work.

Each side keeps the other in check, has a different perspective, is able to ask the overlooked questions. Hateful Americans become preoccupied with the false notion that all ills are the fault of 'the other side,' and that America would be much better if 'the other side' were eliminated.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

I say in my Avatar that Diversity Makes Greatness and it is true. We need diversity of origins and diversity of views. A truly free nation has it all. Any hope of 'winning' the left/right struggle is pointless. Left and Right need to learn to work together. That is how we make America greater. Hatred hurts. Cooperation creates.

It is the greedy super rich and powerful who fan the fires of division that they may have their way. They pit the left and right bitterly against one another as a distraction so we won't notice as they rob us blind.

Our emotions are being used against us as a tool. We must rise above such weaknesses.

It's not easy to have compassion for those who emit vitriol, but nobody ever said building a nation was easy, or that the work of building America is done.
