trump pulled out of the deal. Iran technically continued to honor the deal, but did not really. I doubt the deal can be rebuilt. It will go down in history as another Obama success thrown away by trump.

We demolished Japan and Germany, and they looked on us fondly.
The Iranian people used to like us and respect us.
We supported a horrible dictator, which normally would be a problem, but that was 44 years ago, and the average age of an Iranian is 32. American culture is likable, so there are Iranian teens who love America. Their opinion of us has faded since trump took the blame for all Iran's economic problems. It was an unforced error, with no benefit to us.

Obama definitely got the best deal possible. There was no better deal out there. If trump had only not been blinded to that by his hatred, we would be in much better shape today.
Disagree totally, Obama was desperate for a deal to brag about his negotiating abilities. The deal was useless and Trump was totally correct to tear the deal up. I suspect that when Israel gets its hands on the KC-46A tankers in the next two years or so, they'll sort the problem themselves.
