"Donald Trump was told the same thing over and over, by his campaign team, the data crunchers, and a steady stream of lawyers, investigators and inner-circle allies: There was no voting fraud that could have tipped the 2020 presidential election. Trump was told repeatedly that there were no hidden ballots, rigged voting machines or support for his other outlandish claims."

"Pence team couldn't verify Trump campaign's election fraud claims"
"Pence’s legal team didn’t just track the barrage of wild legal arguments from former President Donald Trump’s lawyers and allies, but also meticulously monitored the allegations of election fraud and mismanagement"

So in other words, Trump knew fully well that the Big Lie was the Big Lie, but he used it anyway to mobilize supporters to halt the accreditation of Biden as the elected President of the United States. How is this not an attempt to overthrow the Government?

you seem to have fallen short in your job to find crimes......

No one said the Committee was going to find crimes, in fact, they can't prosecute, only lay out the facts for others to proceed

And your lame cover sounds a lot like the old "he didn't break the law did he" we used to hear

Committee said Trump tried to overthrow the government using violence. Lots of crimes there.

DJT does not subcontract out his thinking and opinions to others, he makes up his own mind.

It was his staff, advisors, attorneys, even family who told him it was over, all those close to him, and we all know he made up his own mind, regardless of the proof, he was going to do whatever he had to to maintain power, legal or not

Trump knows he lost and illegally tried to flip it.

DT is a domestic enemy of the US Constitution who violated his oath of office by refusing to accept the outcome of a free and fair election that he lost.

Hello archives,

It makes him a threat to our democracy, anyone in that position who deliberately pimps a lie to maintain personal power isn't quite what the Founding Fathers had in mind

This founding father was concerned that someone like Trump might come along one day.

Here is an uncanny description of Trump by Alexander Hamilton:

"When a man unprincipled in private life, desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper, possessed of considerable talents, known to have scoffed in private at the principles of liberty, when such a man is seen to mount the hobby horse of popularity to join the cry of danger to liberty, to take every opportunity of embarrassing the general government and bringing it under suspicion, it may justly be suspected his object is to throw things into confusion, that he may ride the storm and direct the whirlwind."

Trump supporters are in confusion.

January 6th was 'the whirlwind.' Q believers thought it was 'The Storm.'

Sounds pretty defensive.

So far, this is terrible optics for your party. They look like worms who have no standards.
