Biden specifically said months ago that taking down the Russian economy was going to be a long term commitment.

Russians are hardened by history and culture and have tenacity and endurance. The question is whether soft and weak MAGA fat asses can compete with them.

Russia has taken extraordinary measures to prop up their economy, but those are band aids which will not save them in the long run.

Obama, much like Trump, but not for personal reasons like Trump, wanted to try to reset relations with Russia, but because Putin is so corrupt, it didn’t work.

Personally I believe that Joe has been wrong on pretty much every move he has made. Sanctions, yes. After the invasion? Late. (wrong decision, why? because if you are trying to incentivize right action before the invasion you put in the disincentive before the invasion). I support him aiding the Ukraine, that is the right thing to do especially after we forced them to give their nuclear weapons to Russia and said we would take a strong interest in their nation's safety (so did Russia, only one of us is breaking an agreement), I also think he has been reticent to request more aid (especially in money) from European nations and that this is also the wrong path. I think he's largely been trying to jump in front of the parade and pretending he's been in charge the entirety of this mess.

All of this doesn't change that I think Russia's invasion of the Ukraine is terrible and that people are dying. I don't get satisfaction by pointing out how Brandon has messed this up, it doesn't make me happy or gleeful.

I just think that what we could have done to prevent it was not done, and every action we take now is trying to back fill the hole that Brandon dug for us. How would you define a "win" for Ukraine now? Just giving up certain regions? What is Joe's plan for the end game other than throwing money and equipment at Ukraine?

You may think Biden was late, but he had to get support and repair damages to NATO’s unity. I think he did a great job of that.

I’m not sure Biden’s plan, other than helping Ukraine with weapons, I’m sure it has a lot to do with Putin.

I just think it is wrong for Americans to support and cheer for Putin over America, NATO and democracy.

Nobody in this thread is cheering Russia or Putin, they are simply pointing out the failure of Brandon. I know you don't want to hear how ineffective he is, but pointing out how much Brandon sucks is not the same thing as cheering Russia or supporting Putin.

Remember when Brandon laughed when Romney said Russia was a threat to our interests? Yeah. Those were good times.

Big pooch is cherry picking the fact again

The ruble's resiliency means that Russia is partly insulated from the punishing economic penalties imposed by Western nations after its invasion of Ukraine, although how long that protection will last is uncertain.

Excuse me, Obama gave Crimea to Pootie, NOT Trump. Hillbag's Reset didn't work because Pootie knew Obama was a pansy.

Obama refused javelins to Ukraine, Trump did give them to Ukraine.

Trump told Merkel not to buy Russian gas, and blocked the Nordstream2 pipeline. Biden approved it, and shut down construction of our own Keystone pipeline.:palm:
