Steve Bannon strikes back

The Jan 6 committee and DOJ have connived to charge Steve Bannon--the Trump campaign strategist--with criminal contempt of Congress. He's due to go to trial.

Well, Bannon's lawyers have just subpoenaed Nancy Pelosi and the members of the Jan 6 committee to give dispositions and as witnesses in his upcoming trial.

That should make for interesting narrative...

Want to bet that they will first shit themselves, then try like hell to find a way not to have to testify?

Justice has all the seditious evidence against the pig Bannon to strike back in its own way to which Bannon would not be able to get up from that pact on his filthy, sleazy and stinking hide:

Stephen K. Bannon Indicted for Contempt of Congress
Two Charges Filed for Failing to Honor House Subpoena From Select Committee Investigating Jan. 6 Capitol Breach

Stephen K. Bannon was indicted today by a federal grand jury on two counts of contempt of Congress stemming from his failure to comply with a subpoena issued by the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol.

Bannon, 67, is charged with one contempt count involving his refusal to appear for a deposition and another involving his refusal to produce documents, despite a subpoena from the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the U.S. Capitol. An arraignment date has not yet been set in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

“Since my first day in office, I have promised Justice Department employees that together we would show the American people by word and deed that the department adheres to the rule of law, follows the facts and the law and pursues equal justice under the law,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “Today’s charges reflect the department’s steadfast commitment to these principles.”

“As detailed in the indictment, on Sept. 23, 2021, the Select Committee issued a subpoena to Mr. Bannon,” said U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves for the District of Columbia. “The subpoena required him to appear and produce documents to the Select Committee, and to appear for a deposition before the Select Committee. According to the indictment, Mr. Bannon refused to appear to give testimony as required by subpoena and refused to produce documents in compliance with a subpoena.”

Actually, the likely outcome is Bannon's case will be quietly dropped as neither Pelosi nor any member of the Jan 6 committee will want to undergo deposition and discovery as part of Bannon's trail. For them, it'll be better to just let him go than be forced to justify their actions under oath in a court of law.

Oh, my God. What have you been smoking? It's out of the hands of the committee now. Bannon's case has been referred to the DOJ. It's a cut an dry case. He tried to blow off a subpoena. He's going to jail.. probably not for more than a year, but he's going!

Wrong! Bannon subpoenaed the committee members as witnesses. That means they will have to give depositions in his case and undergo discovery, as will Pelosi. That is his legal right. Do you really think Pelosi and the committee members want to be grilled by Bannon's lawyers and have to cough up documents they demand? I don't think so. They'll drop his case before that happens.

It's a brilliant strategy by Bannon's lawyers. They are doing to the committee and Pelosi what they did to Bannon. I don't see them for a second wanting any part of that.

LOL.. no. Not gonna work. Besides, the committee members could do the same thing Bannon did - come up with a bullshit excuse and blow off the subpoenas. Bannon's going to jail, my love. And none of your or his Nazi fever dreams is going to save him.

The GOP will run both houses come November, Out to Lunch forgets that.

all of this is bullshit. "trials" and arrests for subpoena refusal looks like its all hot air
It would be karmic brilliance to turn the tables on the committee

Navarro is planning to do the same thing as well. Where the fuck do they get the power to arrest somebody and put them in leg irons and handcuffs ffs!

An ex-top White House adviser has been charged with contempt of Congress for refusing to co-operate with the inquiry into last year's US Capitol riot.

Peter Navarro is the second Trump aide to be arrested after defying a legal summons from the congressional committee investigating the attack.

In court, Mr Navarro, 72, accused prosecutors and the FBI of misconduct.

His indictment comes a week before the committee is due to begin televised hearings on its inquiry.

The US House of Representatives panel, made up of seven Democrats and two Republicans, has interviewed more than 1,000 witnesses.
