The Ukrainian soccer players are playing against Wales in the UK right now.

The match is to decide which team goes to Qatar to play in the World Soccer Finals later in the year.

While the Ukrainians are allowed to compete the Russian team has been banned for being born in Russia.

How's that for keeping politics out of sport ?

Israel- illegal invaders and ethnic cleansers of Palestine, jailers of thousands of Palestinians without trial, including children, bombers of white phosphorus on Gaza, apartheid state condemned by Amnesty International, assassins of journalists, recipients of condemnation by more UN resolutions than every country in the world combined- was allowed to compete.

Clearly, the soccer sport is rotten with hypocrisy- just like the US government.
 
The Scots won, apparently. Now those poor Ukrainians will have to go and fight for Zelensky.

I am guessing it was Scotland playing. I'm probably the only guy in Virginia with a Scottish National Cricket team jersey from the 1999 World Cup. Drove to Toronto with a South African buddy to see them win their qualifying match. The players were pretty surprised to hear my accent when we chatted during drinks.

Scotland lost to Ukraine last week, it turns out- but Ukraine lost to Wales yesterday.

I tried watching cricket once but gave up after half an hour when nothing had happened.

Cricket is a lot like baseball in that there is always quite a lot happening IF YOU KNOW where to look.

My South African friend was very helpful in explaining the game which made all the difference. Cricket is actually far more complex than baseball.

Didnt guess Wales would be that good at soccer but good for them.
