The Jan. 6 committee hearings are finally here — and Republicans are running scared

The only thing blowing up in your face tonight are the penises of the Japanese businessmen paying you to be their bukkake recipient.

Idk even what to say to that. Wow.

Ok, homoerotic boi. :dunno:

May your dreams of short Japanese cocks all cum true? :dunno:

I like tall American women. That's where we differ, I suppose.

Against Democrats... That's where this is headed. It will be one more Democrat clusterfuck in a carbuncle of clusterfucks. The Democrats would be better off fixing their border / immigration disaster, the economy, gas prices, rising violent crime rates, and a whole plethora of other things rather than trying to impeach Trump a third time. Nobody will give a fuck about what the Jan 6 committee does.
You hope, but it won't happen that way. The border issue hasn't changed since trump, as his policies are still in effect. Save for the ripping infants from mothers' breasts.

Mid terms do tend to favor the minority party, but if people vote on the issues, Republicans openly admit that they have none.

What exactly has any Republican proposed to fix supply chain issues that began under trump?
They can't complain about the economy, because the monthly indicators that trump bragged about each month for 4 years are very strong.

What exactly is in the Republican platform?

The Republican platform this time needs be nothing more than We won't be doing the stupid shit to fuck up the economy the Democrats are doing... The Jan 6 committee hearings will be high farce. The same bunch of idiots that tried to impeach Trump twice are going to try a third time. CNN and MSNBC will breathlessly expound on how Trump is finally finished as nobody watches or cares.

It's the Democrats that are running scared. They know they're in for a pasting in November so they're trying to do something, anything to mitigate that disaster. For example, Mayorkas (DHS Secretary) is quietly starting to build walls on the border--supposedly to just fill in gaps--but building wall nonetheless. The MSM is ignoring the story nearly entirely because it hurts the Democrat narrative.

This is to try and abate the mass invasion of illegals into the US because it's hurting Democrat's chances in border states in particular.

It's a tact admission that Biden's immigration policies are a disaster.

Supply chain issues are a combination of Biden and California for the most part. One of the bigger hits is California's "gig worker" / independent contractor law that Joke wants to duplicate. This law forces most people who work independently on a 1099 basis for employers to become employees. The unions wanted this to force more people into joining. Biden's onboard with that. It is creating much of the bottleneck in the supply chain we're seeing, particularly at West Coast ports.

Inflation is out-of-control, and prices are spiraling ever higher. Republicans don't have to bitch about the economy, the public is doing it for them.

The post above gives several major Democrat fuck ups in it.

An easy Republican point would be "Drill baby, drill!" Ditching the whole Democrat / Joke "Green" agenda is a great place to start.
Your only issue was the supply chain clusterfuck brought about by a number of factors at the ports. Factors that didn't magically appear on Jan 22, '21.

There is nothing at the border that has changed. A trump appointee kept trump's policies in place.

So it seems that Republicans will once again rely on an uninformed electorate, which leaves out Democrats and the majority of Independents.

Hello guno,

The long-awaited January 6th committee public hearings have finally been scheduled. The first one is set for next Thursday, June 9th, in prime time. The committee previewed their plans for next week, announcing on Thursday that they will "present previously unseen material documenting January 6th, receive witness testimony, preview additional hearings, and provide the American people a summary of its findings about the coordinated, multi-step effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and prevent the transfer of power."

Republicans are obviously worried that some of their troops might tune in and see something that will shake their faith in the Big Lie.

Whatever happens in these hearings we can be sure that they will be different than any hearings you may have watched in recent years and it's not just because of the extraordinary subject matter. For the first time in recent memory, we will have a congressional hearing without even one obnoxious Republican grand stander seeking to derail the whole thing. We can expect that this committee will be serious and focused which is something we have not seen in public hearings for a very long time.

The Republicans are obviously worried that some of their troops might tune in and see something that will shake their faith in the Big Lie so they are plotting to "counter-program" the hearings. Axios reported on Thursday that they are deploying everyone from House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy to possibly Trump himself to fan out to Fox News, Steve Bannon's "War Room," "Real America's Voice," Facebook and Trump's own Truth Social to ensure the base doesn't lose their religion.Whatever happens in these hearings we can be sure that they will be different than any hearings you may have watched in recent years and it's not just because of the extraordinary subject matter. Why would Republicans think they have to say anything about it? Do they feel guilty for supporting The Big Liar?

The fanatical Republican base, devout believers of The Big Lie, are not going to change. But there are a lot of people who have sort of bought in to the idea that there were election irregularities and it may have possibly been enough to change the election results. It's flimsy reasoning, but if they are drawn to Republican ideology and wary of Democrats they need some way to justify continued support of Trump.

It takes a wise person to admit fault. If an individual previously supported Trump, and they admit that Trump was not a good president, then they have to admit they were wrong. A lot of people simply have a very difficult time admitting mistakes. So they look for any way around that. Questioning the election results despite the State certifications is one way to do that. Couple that with distrust of Democrats and government in general, and they are going to be very interested in any theory which allows them to avoid admitting being wrong about Trump in the first place.

For this wishy-washy crowd that might flip on Trump, the Republicans have to do whatever they can to try to control the messaging.

That is the crux of Republican power, after all, controlling the messaging. Gotta get those rumors started, and keep them circulating. Without peer pressure, social media and rumors, Republican support would fall off the cliff.

Too bad this is going to be competing with the gun debate. Attitudes will cool on the importance of doing something about our gun problem.

Chiefs of staff and aides to House Jan. 6 committee warned to prepare for 'bombshells' ahead of public hearing, report says

Chiefs of staff and other aides to members of the House Select Committee investigating January 6 were warned to prepare for "bombshells" ahead of public hearings next month.

The warning came Friday on a weekly call with committee staff, Axios reported, citing two sources that were on the call. A security meeting with the US Capitol Police is scheduled for May 20 to prepare lawmakers and their staff for the public hearings, which are due to begin on June 9.

Let's all hope the hype is true and the traitors, terrorists and criminals are brought to justice.

They mostly occurred on the West Coast at California ports because of a combination of new regulations imposed by Biden and California. That cascaded to the rest of the US because those same federal regulations hit the whole trucking industry for example.

Things at the border did change, because now illegal crossings are at an all-time high. Worse, unlike the Trump administration where crossers were deported, Biden has deported next to no one. The drop has been from tens of thousands a month to thousands, and falling with Biden.

Good. The time has come for those who broke the law and pissed on the constitution.

But Trump has to worry about the Georgia phone call more than anything. He's really fucked on that and there's no escaping it. The phone recording says it all. Trump is fucked.

Ain't it grand???

The committee is going to lay out the facts of what happened leading up to and on the sith of January. Peter Navarro has been kind enough to go on television and admit the conspiracy, but the details SHOULD send chills up the spine of every single American. Unfortunately it won't because 30% of Americans are viewing the events with a preconceived belief that the election was stolen. The lack of ANY proof doesnt slow them down. When you start with a false premise, you can justify anything.

For the rest of America, it should cause everyone to abandon the GOP. I'm not sure that's enough to overcome the new laws that will allow the GOP to install their choice as President without having to deal with the VP and certification. They have made sure those elections will no longer be free and fair at the state level. They did so in plain site, and Democrats, instead of saving democracy, chose to stand on ceremony and preserve a Senate rule that has it's roots in racism. It is remarkable how fragile our democracy turned out to be.

We are going to hear about a plot, referred to as the 'Green Bay Sweep'. Using that sports analogy, Mike Pence was the quarterback, and the idea was to bribe the officials to let Trumps team cheat. But Pence refused to go along. The idea was to have Pence refuse to certify the election, and throw it back to the states, where Trump hoped that he would receive friendly treatment. False electors would vote for Trump in states that he lost. Eventually the electoral college would be so chaotic that certification would be impossible, the House would decide the presidency, and Trump would hold on to power despite losing the election. But the states also refuse to 'play ball'. So Trump tried to bully and intimidate them. The list of crimes inherent in this plot are numerous, and they involve criminal violations of state and Federal laws. This was an attempted coup. Before we rush to call Mike Pence a 'hero', keep in mind that he had full knowledge of this plot and did not reveal it. But he knew. In fact, he was aware that the plan could not succeed if he certified the vote. And that knowledge, and the knowledge of what would happen on 1/6 left Pence in fear of his life, a fear that was completely justified. He also knew that if he could be 'removed' from the process the plan had a chance to succeed. Hence his refusal to be removed from the Capitol. He believed it was an attempt to 'get him out 9of the way' by hiding him. His belief appears to have been correct, since it has now been disclosed that discussions happened about who would replace Pence in the process.

Bottom line, Trump and his cronies hatched a pilot to keep Trump in power despite the fact that he lost the election. It is absolutely frightening. And Trumptards won't even blink. And Democrats will go on television and act shocked and outraged and do NOTHING to stop this from happening again. So it will, and this time, Trumps team will play ball.

An attempted coup happened right before everyone's eyes, and Trump supporters simply do9n't care. It is what it is.

'Bombshells' Yes! Bring on the eye-opening shockers about January 6th.

I don't think this is going to be good for Republicans.

Mobilize the Republican damage control teams!

Line them all up just downstream of the dam before it bursts...

Ok, folks. All you believers of The Big Lie. Stand there with your raincoats and rolls of paper towels... (Maybe you can get Trump to toss out some more)

Get ready! Here it comes...

Hello archives,

And here's what everyone will be hearing from the MAGA militia next week when the hearings start:

""Attack Nancy Pelosi"

"Brand these as rigged hearings, partisan, illegitimate"

"Democrats are out of touch with what Americans are most concerned about"

"Trumpworld plots Jan. 6 counterprogramming blitz"
https://www.axios.com/2022/06/03/trump-january-6-hearings-republicans

Trump and his lemmings already have their defense ready, above talking points will be focused all over Fox and the like, probably even get Jonathan Turley to offer one of the contrarian pieces they pay him for, and, thusly, they all will be echoed here, as we know where the wingers get their "knowledge"

Republicans on the defensive? Trying to justify their actions?

Hard to picture.

I would expect an offensive. They will try to change the subject, rely heavily on whataboutism, and then attack Democrats.

How could they win if all they are doing is making excuses for their actions on January 6th?

They can't.

And the thought of simply facing up to it and admitting it was wrong?

Forget THAT! No way that's gonna happen. They would lose face! That is a fate worse than death for a Trump Republican cult member.

No, they have to try to win, they have to try to beat Democrats; because without that they have nothing to mobilize their grossly misinformed anger-hate-cult to vote. They would lose power; and that terrifies them the most. That fair people who want to look out for the whole country would be in charge. That they wouldn't have the advantage of having greedy rich male chauvinist racist xenophobic corporate lap dogs to the super rich haters-of-science in power to maintain their precious white male superiority complex. Terrifying!

Yeah, totally expect them to attack the legitimacy of the US Congressional Select Committee. That will have to be central in their diversion from the truth they don't want to admit.

A let us be quick to point out they had a chance to agree to an Independent 911-style Commission, but they refused to agree.
