Yeah, Pelosi and Schumer are shameful but trump and his coterie of liars are as pure as the driven snow. You forget that there was video of Floyd's death and some of his killers pleaded guilty to causing it.

First time I heard it was somebody used it on here, can't remember who though.
Actually the argument I heard was that WOKE can be traced back to working class England, as I remember the transmission took place in the Old South. I cant remember who said it but it was on a podcast...I tend to remember ideas not speakers because sadly my brain is not exceptional....it only has so much room.

I remember now, it was Cawacko! He's always plugged in to the black zeitgeist.
Only 20 years? He took a life and was aided and abetted by the two other cops. The video didn't lie. Floyd was clearly not struggling yet Chauvin showed reckless disregard for his life. The three cops could have subdued him without killing him. And it's false and a cop-out to blame his sentence on the PTB and the media. If I were the judge Chauvin would have gotten life w/o the possibility of parole.
Yes, it meant being "alert to racial prejudice and discrimination" but has gone far beyond that. Everything conservatives hate and want to blame on liberals is derided as "woke."

He struggled for over 20 minutes, maybe you have to be reminded that Chauvin was only 5'7" and 140lbs, whilst Floyd was the best part of 250lbs and 6' 6" who was high on Fentanyl, meth and dope. Chauvin deserved 5 years max. for involuntary manslaughter. no more, he was made a scapegoat by Buy Large Mansions and the Wokerati. Why does the Left always seem to choose scum as cause celebres, that truly baffles me?

Maybe you should read John McWhorter before you accuse others? He's not anybody's definition of a RWNJ and he's far more qualified to talk about racism than white middle class liberals who live in leafy suburbs.

How do you define the modern day anti-racist movement?
John McWhorter: "What we're talking about is a division of the radical left. And I don't mean radical left, of the slur. But battling differentials in power, especially where white power is concerned, that that needs to be at the center of what we do intellectually, artistically, how we judge people morally. And that if a person doesn't agree with a certain agenda that's centered on that, to the expense of everything else, then those people deserve to be shamed, possibly even dismissed from their positions. And in general, stripped of their epaulets. And so it's an evangelical and even prosecutorial way of being an anti-racist.
"I should say, I just want to get a couple of things out of the way very quickly. One, I do not not understand systemic racism. The book makes it clear that I know what systemic racism is, and that it needs to be fought. It's very important. And when I say in the book that there is a woke racism, and that I'm worried about what these ideals are doing to Black people, my corollary is not 'Black people need to just pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and stop talking about racism so much.' The book is also about societal solutions. The book is written because I am worried about what this new anti-racism spells for Black American people who need help."
