Biden calls 9mm ‘high-caliber weapons,’ suggests banning them

I think a more enhanced approach is to ban the NRA domestic terrorist regime that promotes domestic terrorist atrocities and its GQP NRA blood money making counterpart enablers of domestic terrorism too at waging war on democracy to do the bidding of foreign enemies in particular.

You will never "ban" the NRA. Of course, you don't know anything but the bullshit your handlers tell you. We are far more powerful than you think.

The NRA did exactly jack squat to stop the Assault Weapons Ban. And after that year I quit them.

GOA is better.

Why do Lefties looooove banning stuff? Okay, ban the NRA. What other organizations should we ban? When the Republicans take over Congress next November, who do you think they'll ban using the power you just handed them?

Disagreed on the NRA's actions in 1994, but I did quit them a few years later due to their annoying money requests. I rejoined in 2013 after Obama tried to reenact the ban.

Bill Clinton loves to lie about his ban:

Bill Clinton Touts Failed Gun Ban With Bogus Info
Enacted in 1994 as part of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, the Clinton semi-auto ban prohibited several models of semi-automatic firearms by name and prohibited other commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms based on certain cosmetic characteristics. The measure also banned standard capacity magazines that could hold more than 10 rounds. The legislation contained a 10-year sunset provision and required the Department of Justice to study the efficacy of the ban. The ban was not renewed in 2004.

The ban was allowed to lapse because in infringed on the constitutional right of law-abiding Americans, and, more simply, it didn’t work. The primary focus of the ban was the prohibition on certain configurations of semi-automatic rifles. Rifles of any description are rarely used in crime. FBI Uniform Crime Reporting data shows that in 2017 there were nearly four times as many individuals listed as killed with “knives or cutting instruments,” than with any type of rifle. Rifles were also listed as being used in less homicides than “blunt objects (clubs, hammers, etc.)” or “personal weapons (hands, fists, feet, etc.).

A pair of DOJ studies on the ban found the ban ineffective precisely because the banned firearms were rarely used in crime. A 1997 DOJ study explained that “At best, the assault weapons ban can have only a limited effect on total gun murders, because the banned weapons and magazines were never involved in more than a modest fraction of all gun murders.” A 2004 DOJ study reiterated this point, noting “AWs [assault weapons] and LCMs [large capacity magazines] were used in only a minority of gun crimes prior to the 1994 federal ban” and that “relatively few attacks involve more than 10 shots fired.” The study went on to determine, “the ban’s effects on gun violence are likely to be small at best and perhaps too small for reliable measurement.”

In his commentary, a strident Clinton proclaimed that his gun ban ameliorated mass shootings. Regarding such shootings, the 1997 DOJ study explained,

We were unable to detect any reduction to date in two types of gun murders that are thought to be closely associated with assault weapons, those with multiple victims in a single incident and those producing multiple bullet wounds per victim.

The 2004 DOJ study found, “it is not clear how often the outcomes of gun attacks depend on the ability to fire more than 10 shots (the current limit on magazine capacity) without reloading.”

My God I thanked Dutchy for a post. What is the world coming to?

I'll tell you this:

The assault weapon ban didn't stop the 1st bad school shooting that started this trend of them all happening in the 1st place.

They used shotguns and pipe bombs. Idk how many killed but it was bad. Bad little motherfuckers! GRRR!

Don't remember quite which year, but it was April 20th right in the middle of the Assault Weapon Ban.

Some articles I've reposted point out that part of the problem is Social Media. Notice how many of these mass murder/suicides are telegraphed on social media and then recorded for social media.

All of these nutjobs are bent on committing suicide, which is fine by me, but they choose to commit murder, which is NOT fine by me. Banning guns is as stupid as banning social media to solve a mental health issue.

at times. but this guy was world famous for gaffes before he ever started running for national office.

Bush the Lesser was much better at gaffes; funnier too.

Biden just kinda drifts off sleepily not rant like Pedo Don.

Sometimes he stays awake long enough to gaffe or rant. Like his recent boast about being appointed to the Naval Academy in 1965.
Yes, that's weird.

Although I'm against a law on it, it'd be great if both parties would elect younger, more cognizant candidates.

9mm Parabellum literally means that the bullets are for war. "Para-bellum" is Latin meaning prepared for war.

It has been found to be the perfect balance of parameters to be the best killing handgun calibre for war. A .45 was designed to kill horses, back in the days of calvary. The 9mm is designed for killing people, both soldiers and civilians. It is darn good at doing that in greater numbers.

Yes, bigger bullets do more damage per strike, but are harder to shoot and carry, so there will be less strikes.

I like the .45. Not that hard to shoot...and you only have to shoot once.

You will shoot 10 times with a wonder nine in the time it takes to shoot twice with a .45. You figure in any real situation, you will be lucky if even one of those hit anything, that is an important difference.

Tell us more. You know a lot about firing weapons without the proper training to hit the broad side of a barn? You might be a public menace Walt.

WTF is a "wonder nine"?
