"The marketplace of ideas." All kinds of different ones, disagreeing ones, opposite ones - and the best ones win out in the end. If your ideas are strong enough, you'll win.

I would never want one party or the other to just rule everything, with no dissent or opposing ideas. I don't trust either party to start with, but it's the differing ideas that we all benefit from.

Too bad you guys have lost sight of that. No more disagreement. No more ideas that aren't in line w/ yours. It's a pretty dystopian vision.

I didn't vote for Biden. I also didn't vote for Hillary or Obama.

Don't project your partisan devotion on to me. I was glad Biden won, because a 2nd Trump term would have been terrible. He was such a bad President - all he did was stoke divisions. I'm still not sure if we'll really recover from the 1 term he had.

I mean, just look at this thread.

You are nailing it tonight. Same here. I love my countrymen,...even those we are at odds with. Because quite frankly,....when we put aside all the partisan bullshit and just speak freely to other people most of us want the same things. To be free, and to get along...good employment,...a chance to make our way in this world.
 
Some of the best years this country ever had IMO. It all has to do with having confidence in leadership and your fellow countrymen. People BELIEVED we could.....so we DID! I was 16 years old when he was elected. When he ran again he was my first ever vote as I was 20 years old by then. Would love to experience something like that for our country again.

 
It is looking more and more certain that the alt right will step over the line between terrorism and genocide. They are already in terrorism.

I doubt there is any argument that when I hear it, I will think genocide starts making sense... Especially when the genocide is aimed against me and my family.... But go ahead, give it your best shot.

This is interesting. What do you think about the idea that those who do not get their "vaccinations" are a mortal danger to others? Or those who don't "mask up" are a danger to others? I'll get to what I was going to say but first tell me what you thought about all of the mainstream covid hysteria over the last two years. The reason I ask is because of your mention of terrorism which is violence in pursuit of a political goal., or do you not agree with that definition?
