No, you can't buy one PERIOD. For all practical purposes they are illegal unless you currently own one. Nobody sells an AR15 or like gun (there are about 100 of them). The ammo you could still purchase because it is a .223, it's the NATO round and it fits in plenty of bolt action rifles that would remain legal for many purposes. All accomplished with 1 law and not cost the taxpayer a dime. Make it illegal to sell or give an assault weapon to anyone.

In the instance I posted about a real need for a semiauto that holds 12-20 rounds like the farmer that has 100 hogs destroying his farm. They would be the only ones who could acquire one. They would aquire it from ATF after that psych evaluation and a valid reason for needing one.

That pig was acres away and he nailed it. That cracker can shoot! I skinned it and let the rest gut and butcher it. I cut the head off. That's the 1st step in skinning something like that.

The bullet hole was there. Barely visible. Never got any of that meat, wtf?!

Wasn't Texas though, it was the orange groves and farms of central Florida.

By the way I say you are full of shit. A .17 caliber drops about a foot over 200 yards. Hitting something at 400 yds with a .17 means it must have been sighted about 2 ft high at 100 yds and lobbed in there. Dumb luck to hit anything at 400 yds with a .17
