The AR-15 Has No Business Being in the Hands of Civilians

Rifles are more accurate than pistols, and semi automatic ARs have a much high rate of fire than revolvers and shotguns.

High capacity ammo clips were an innovation for battlefield use by the military.

There is no legitimate need for you to be locked and loaded with a 30 round clip.

Easy solution: ban high capacity clips for both semi automatic rifles and pistols.

Perfectly constitutional.

perfectly UN constitutional......the 2nd Amendment is not about need, it's about rights and the limitation that the federal government has no power over our arms.

That's absolutely right, friend. Kids are just like a financial security. Kids grow, but instead of making you money they take it from you. Hmmmm.. you might be onto something there, Sunny Jim!
I'm sorry but I can't joke about a serious subject like dead kids. We need to make real change that can really protect them. Getting rid of all guns isn't going to happen. Changing school design and procedures can happen.

I don't want you or anyone else to be able to buy one either!!!

Sir: Herein lies the problem: We're not going to agree on anything about guns. If you wish to characterize that as my accepting that, humorously as my "disrespecting dead kids" then you haven't been listening to the last 7 days. I'm fuckin' heartsick.

From my experience dealing with situations where two people are deadlocked.. there are two ways it can go.. we could start throwing haymakers at each other.. or we could move on and talk about something else.

I'd like to move on and talk about something else.

Lurch don't get me wrong I'm heart sick about the shooting of kids also , or for adults for that matter. If we can't talk about guns then why not talk about changes to our schools that could make them safer. Things like automatically closing a self locking doors armed in school personnel. Secure access points with ballistic glass and CCTV monitored by staff. Active shooter drills led by the police every three months. Would be a good start

and that isn't me, retard. go back and read the post I replied to and maybe you'll get the point

I know, well, I don't think you are a danger to society personally.

But unregulated guns are- and you are for them, so maybe I spoke too soon!

You may not be- but your vote is dangerous to society!

I'm also a Marine who trained and carried the M-16............which is why I prefer the AR-15. I'm very comfortable with that model.

I had to qualify with the M16 more than once. Hate it. Especially hate the telescoping stock version. Very uncomfortable for me. The sight picture is okay though.

My friend. I've been yelling this to you for over a week:

DOORS, UNLOCKED DOORS, VIDEO GAMES, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND EVERYTING ELSE OTHER THAN UNRESTRICTED ACCESS TO GUNS, EXISTS IN EVERY OTHER COUNTRY THAT DOESN'T HAVE MASS SHOOTINGS.

Please hear me. You feel it's the stuff in caps above. I get that. I feel it's the guns and only the guns.. I reached out with what I thought was an awesome idea, you threw it back in my face, calling me a "gun grabber".

Dude.

Short of a Zombie apocalypse, there is no legitimate need for you to have a semi automatic rifle with a 45 round capacity magazine. None, nada, zilch

You don't even have a right to it. Restrictions on ammo capacity and on semi automatic assault rifles are perfectly constitutional.

Personally, I think we should require full psychological evaluations for any gun owner, but that might not pass constitutional muster.

Gee, what the hell did all those hunters do for generations before the AR-15? I mean, you had NATIONS of people living and thriving in this land over a thousand years that hunted (and unfortunately, had wars) without (GASP!) guns. They put food on the table, clothes on their backs and made all types of utensils/tools from their kills.

IT WAS CALLED SKILL.

The AR-15 was NOT designed to hunt. It does EXACTLY what it was designed to do....deliver multiple high impact, light but strong ammo with a rapid trigger squeeze accurately with minimal recoil. Somehow, the hunters of old using single shot bolt action hunting rifles managed to put food on the table and a head on the mantle piece/rug on the floor.

IT WAS CALLED SKILL!

So spare me all the BS justification for weapons now used for mass shooting that weren't available during the 1994 AWB. I grew up and was taught that just because you want it doesn't me you need it, much less that you should have it.

Maybe a whole lot of folk should grow up.
