the writings of the founders CLEARLY show that their experience with the kings standing army trying to confiscate their arms, which includes the shot and powder, were the main consideration in the 'shall not be infringed' statement. ALL of them, as well as we the people, agreed that the new central government would have zero power or authority over the arms of the people, which includes shot and powder, now bullets.

this is the part where you morons expose your idiocy. the constitution was written to LIMIT the power of government, not limit the rights of the people. now, why do you hate freedom?

the founders FEARED a standing army because of their experience with the kings army. all of their writings clearly indicate that the PEOPLE have their own arms.

Can voting physically harm someone?

And there are some restrictions on voting. In some states, for example, felons can't vote. Very few of our rights are completely unfettered. Free speech doesn't mean you can slander someone.

Background checks are a reasonable regulation regarding firearms. As I said, it's incomprehensible to me why every American wouldn't support something as simple & reasonable as a background check.
