Righties claim that it's time to blame President Obama for the state of affairs because he's been in office nearly 9 months.

They don't want you to consider that nearly every dollar of today's federal spending, and almost all current federal taxes were dictated by laws that were already on the books when President Obama took office.

The GOP played the tax cut card for every circumstance during the Bush years.

Surplus? Give the rich tax breaks!
Dot-com bust? - give big business corporate welfare!
9/11 - spend trillions or the terrorists win!

One thing is clear; you can’t increase taxes in a deep recession, and there is very little of the federal budget that you can cut to make a difference, so you have to run a deficit.

Now the hypocrites who cheered Bush on while he borrowed and spent us into a depression are demanding a balanced budget?

When Bush came into office after stealing the 2000 election, the national debt was under 6 trillion dollars. In January, 2009, when President Obama came into office, the debt was nearly 12 trillion dollars.

We are dealing with the legacy of huge tax cuts for the top tier of wealthy Americans, a botched war in Afghanistan, plus a very costly, unnecessary lost war in Iraq.

All these add up to the worst economic situation since the.Great Depression of the 1930s, which was also caused by GOP mismanagement and greed.

It took FDR years to fix the Republican's mess last time.

It will take more than nine or ten months for President Obama to get the country back on track this time.

Bush (and before him, Saint Raygun) spent years blaming their problems on their predecessors, so we can cut President Obama the same slack.

Unless you think a Black president doesn't deserve the same chance a white one got.

using because he is BLACK isn't working anymore, you all done used that one up..

and Bush was blamed for 9/11 even though it was said to have been planned under Clinton and Bush was only in office for nine months... so I say we should go ahead and lay all the bad shit happening now on the Hugo Obama..only seems fair..

Where were you when Bush started the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and pushed through tax cuts?

Bush doubled the deficit. That’s astounding when you consider he started with a huge surplus.

What did we get for that extra spending?

Roads and bridges? Nope.
Universal healthcare? No.
High speed rail? No.
A modern, world class electric grid infrastructure? No.
Alternatives/conservation/efficiency to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels? You’re kidding, right?
Improved disaster preparedness? No.

What we got was exactly nothing but debt, because of taxes that were not collected.

Your tax break amounted to 2 carts of groceries.

The tax breaks given to the wealthiest would have paid for 4 years of private college.

But don't blame the white president.

nope sorry, all that is happening today is the Hugo's fault..you all ain't sliding away that easily..

If you'd had your way, he wouldn't have been in office 9 seconds, right?

ah well ya, I sure as hell didn't vote for him so that must of meant I didn't want him in as President...duh..

Progressives become more pathetic when they are losing..:cof1:

The fact that you lost doesn't seem to have impressed on you the notion that most Americans don't share your bigoted hatred of Black people.

he is half white, so that must be the side I hate..you all can hate on the left side..

Thanks for admitting that you hate President Obama because of the color of his skin.

at least his white skin, eh...so I can't be a racist that I am accused of every day because I don't want his "visions" implemented on us..

Pfeeesh, like I said, we knew this was going to happen when he was elected...and he was suppose to be The Great Racial Uniter.

He is. You are a tiny embittered minority, relegated to the fringe. Impotent and powerless.

I take pity on the powerless and disenfranchised, unlike compassionless conservatives. That's why I support health care reform.

face it, DNC....if you took pity on the powerless you would be supporting health care reform that helped the powerless....instead, you support one that gives $10 billion to union members......

He should of said.......I care about POWER..

and the little people are only there to be used to get it..after that they could care less about "the people"
