That's a puzzle in itself, why are women's weights commented on endlessly in the UK? Surely you guys have better things to do than sit around gabbing about why are black women so fat, oh yeah, white women, too.

There are regional differences here, too, but if we talk about it at all, it's not just about women. Plenty of men in the US are hefty chunks of blubber.

One issue that is brought to attention is the number of obese and severely overweight pregnant women. This Guardian article was written back in 2010, I'm sure it's far worse now.

More than one in 20 pregnant women severely obese
