This is why it's important to understand who, exactly, you're donating to and how the money will be spent. It's similar to those rubes who donated money to the Trump campaign only for it to be laundered through the campaign into his pocket, by way of things like having the campaign overpay for Trump organization facilities and services.

Now, in defense of those Cullors dupes, nobody had ever heard of her before this, so while giving her the benefit of the doubt was unwise, it wasn't insanely stupid. But comparison, the Trump donors were donating to someone with a long history as a conman, who'd spent decades living off the money of credulous people. There really was no excuse to trust someone like that with your money.

We are of course talking about those who rushed to donate to Black Lives Matter, an organization with a name that suggests they care about black lives, however what they really care about is enriching their founders and those connected to their founders.

IRS filings show that one of BLM’s co-founders—Patrisse Cullors—used funds raised by the “charity” to enrich her brother and the father of her child for allegedly providing “services” to the organization, the New York Post reports.
