Jewish law does not consider the fetus to be a being with a soul until it is born. It does not have personhood. Furthermore, before 40 days, some poskim, or deciders of Jewish law, have a low bar for allowing an abortion.

In fact, in certain circumstances, a fetus that endangers the life of the mother is legally considered a “murderer” in active pursuit.

guano wants to rely on the scientific knowledge of medieval rabbis.....whatever happened to "progress"......what if we don't agree that the fetus is "water"?........should doctors defer to the knowledge of the rabbis?.....

Hey! Would you volunteer your doorstep to mothers who are forced to carry unwanted pregnancies to term, so they will have a great place to drop their newborns off after they are born- as part of your state's no questions asked policy!

Just think- you could run your own orphanage adoption center!

We'll probably need millions of volunteers annually!

that would be pretty stupid of them since all they have to do is tell the folks at the maternity ward they want to release the kids for adoption and agencies will line up adoptive homes that will cover all the medical expenses......why take the kid out of the hospital to leave it at some stranger's door?......
