It would be a good thing to assure that the new borns who are unwanted by their natural mothers could be adopted by parents who desperately want children.
Are there a sufficient number of prospective parents who would like to adopt to take care of all children who are unwanted? I don't know.
In ancient Rome, adopted children were assumed to be more valued by the parent and natural children were less valued. They could CHOOSE the children they adopted. They were STUCK with the children that they birthed.
Often, children adopted by Ancient Romans would have greater rights to inherited property upon the deaths of their adoptive parents.
It seems rational to think, judging only by the vast demonstrations regarding abortion rights, that more funding and energy is spent by our government on Abortion than adoption.
I have no idea if this is real or only rational to think.
Anecdotally, I have heard that the cost to adopt born by the prospective parents is sometimes pretty extreme and the cost to abort born by the mothers is far less extreme.
I wonder if the costs were similar if the numbers would change.
