Taliban bring back the burka, supreme leader says women must wear it.

According to the BBC, if a woman fails to comply with the face covering decree, their male guardian will be visited at his home.

Following that, they will be summoned to a Ministry of Vice & Virtue and if the woman still does not comply the guardian will be taken to court and could face three days in jail.

The news is likely to come as a crushing blow to many of the 20 million women in the country that had enjoyed relative freedom and equality under the previous US-backed administration.

Afghanistan’s supreme leader has ordered the country’s women to cover their faces in public – one of the harshest restrictions imposed on them since the Taliban seized power last year and an escalation of growing restrictions on women that is drawing a backlash from the international community and many Afghans.

“They should wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is traditional and respectful,” said a decree issued by Taliban chief Haibatullah Akhunzada that was released by authorities at a function in Kabul on Saturday.

That's appalling- a retrograde step, possibly brought on by the West's refusal to recognize the Taliban government and Biden's theft of 7.5 billion dollars of Afghans' legitimate money. Degeneracy flourishes in isolation- as if we didn't know.

Somehow, in the twisted and fascist minds of Reichwingers, crying over the women in a foreign country being deprived of choice is a good thing. But in *this* country, it's just fine to try to deprive women of their right to choose.

They probably will be eventually, at least in many states.

It's actually not comparable, because being forced to carry a fetus to term is much more of a hardship, and much more oppressive.
