Louisiana ready to ban birth control!

The bill does ban IUD’s, it’s clear, it’s why they worded it that way.

If the gov. signs it into law, I expect that you are right and the use of any device or medication preventing implantation will also be banned under that language. Now that this has been made public, we'll see if the legislators clarify that, or not.

Sad how it's the poorest states that are forced-birther states. They can't even afford the ppl they have now, and depend on other states to provide.

So, if I were an employee of Brandon and worked in the "disinformation" department as a Czar, would I ban this speech because the claim is "disinformation" or do you have evidence that this law does what you say?

How would you go about banning it? Especially if you work for the government? I would think though if you work for the government it would be important to understand the messages that are being sent into the country from adversaries. Did somebody suggest we ban those messages? I absolutely think we need to understand them and what their goal is.

I see truth doesn’t matter to you when talking about the current president of the United States of America.

Nope, you're right -- there are no words about IEDs in that bill. :rofl2:

"An improvised explosive device (IED) is a bomb constructed and deployed in ways other than in conventional military action. It may be constructed of conventional military explosives, such as an artillery shell, attached to a detonating mechanism. IEDs are commonly used as roadside bombs, or homemade bombs." (Wikipedia)

Corrected and there is not one word about contraception.

I see you still haven't provided any evidence that this law does what you claim, so my guess is Ms.Information Czar would be all up on you for setting forth with disinformation that they would claim was provided by "outside" entities. If you were rightwing that is. Because you know, the Government should check on foreign reporting because those dirty foreigners don't have rights...

Are you going to link us to evidence of your claim or not? Shall we move this from Current Events because it isn't an Event, and can't be current because we determine it to be faulty information? Pull a TwitLer and just move it somewhere nobody will look for it?

I mean, this is where conservatives go COMPLETELY off the rails.

Ban abortion AND birth control. It's like they have no logic gene.

There is a certain "logic" to it... it only seems illogical if you assume their goal is to reduce fetal deaths. That's not what they're trying to do, though. If it were, there are countless things they could be cooperating with liberals on that could do that: better funding for neonatal care, confirming contraception access under Affordable Care, policies to fight obesity and smoking (which lead to higher rates of miscarriage), and so on. Instead, the goal here is simply to punish women who run afoul of their religion's sexual taboos. They are trying to make unwanted births an unavoidable risk of sex, so that women who have sex without actually wanting a child suffer for it.

If you ever doubt this is about sexual taboos rather than fetal lives, just think of it in terms of which issues you tend to see together. If it were about fetal lives, you'd tend to see that the same people who want abortion outlawed are also fighting the hardest to make sure employer-provided insurance covers contraception, and that there is excellent and affordable prenatal care, and so on. Instead, the people who want abortion outlawed are also generally those who don't like pornography, and gay marriage, and frank sex education in schools, and contraception, and transgender rights, and so on. There's no reason those issues should cluster together like that, except for the fact they're all driven by religious taboos around sex.

A VERY simple solution to the problem. In plain English......... STOP FUCKING without the use of birth control for which there are many varieties made FREE for you at any of the ten gazillion planned parenthood offices. Not near a planned parenthood office EXCUSE? Then buy a RUBBER available at any damn gas station in America. STOP killing your babies and START using some common sense. WOW......these people are even too stupid to FUCK RIGHT. :palm:

"...and frank sex education in schools."

Teaching "frank sex education" (sexual perversion) to six year old girls and boys helped turn blue Virginia to bright red. Separating six year old children by "oppressors" and "oppressed" didn't go over well either.

Parents all across America are protesting at their school boards.

Total horse mierda, no proof or evidence of any of these loony opinions.

What is your explanation for the clustering of those issues? Why is it, for example, that so few of the politicians who favor criminalizing abortion also favor other means to cut down on fetal death (wider availability of contraception, better subsidies for prenatal and obstetric care, more support for poor mothers)? Why is it that so man of them are also people who have taken stances against things like gay marriage? That clustering of issues is a huge puzzle if you imagine fetal lives were the driving consideration. But it's exactly what we'd expect if religious sexual taboos were the driving consideration.

Post evidence of politicians who favor criminalizing abortion that favor other means...

Post those names, not just your biased opinion.

Religious taboos also include...thou shalt not kill.

I find your morality to be lacking in theology. Mine is based on the Devine word of God. Yours is based on...nothing.

The "Misinformation Czar," is about achieving its directive of evaluating incoming misinformation from foreign nations, and has no power to be "all up on anyone" you paranoid prig. The government is not violating anyone's rights by studying misinformation campaigns of advisories. (you know that)

Move it if you feel that is what you need to do, but their are citations all over this thread that show the law would make illegal doing anything to prevent a fertilized egg from developing. An IUD does that, the wording is intentional unless you are an idiot you can see that.

Heck, its much more truthful than the innuendo and lies going on about the misinformation tsar.
