This story captures all the elements of greater wingnut-o-topia. An enraged, righwing lunatic who can’t get a date with any women, and ends up gunning down a bunch of gals. A wounded college student who doesn’t have health insurance. A health care insurance system only Ayn Rand could have invented. Car Wash Helps LA Fitness Shooting Survivor Heal

A car wash became a support system on Sunday for one of the victims of the LA Fitness shooting spree.

Heather Sherba, 22, showed up on crutches for a car wash held to help her pay her mounting medical bills.

Sherba was one of 12 people shot inside of the LA Fitness in Collier Township Aug. 4. Three of the victims died.

On Aug. 4, George Sodini shot and killed three women and injured nine others before turning the gun on himself.

Sherba, a recent nursing school graduate, ran for her life. She found her boyfriend in the gym and had him make a tourniquet out of his T-shirt to stop the bleeding in her leg.

Sherba did not want to talk about the shooting. She was hit in the leg and her teeth were damaged.

However, she was thrilled at the show of spuport at the charity car wash at the Pep Boys in Robinson Township.

"I'm just absolutely grateful that everybody's supportive of me and came out to lend a helping hand," said Sherba.

Organizers hoped to raise $500.

wait, your contention is that a piece of private property prohibited people from bringing weapons of self defense to a place that had no security is grounds for tax payer provided healthcare and that neighbors and friends holding a charity car wash is somehow not enough?

The victims of shootings should blame the GOP for making sure there are plenty of guns around.

Yes, Beefy, this is all totally lame. There’s nothing wrong with people in a rich, prosperous country having to hold car washes and bake sales in a well meaning but desperate attempt to pay the medical bills of a 22 year old girl.

I’m sure your Ron Paul and Ayn Rand solutions are to be applauded.

Didn’t you vote for Bush at one point? As far as I’m concerned, that gives you zero standing to lecture people on politics.
