Did a Republican leak the draft SCOTUS opinion - Almost everyone may comment

You are mistaken. I never said any such thing. Do you often make mistakes like that?

OK, let's go check the record:

I agree that the odds that the leaker was probably a (D) voter are higher than the other way around. However, there are plenty of (R) voters who believe that abortion is not a crime nor should it be. We are just guessing at the motives at any rate. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that it was Clarence Thomas's wife. As a Big Lie believer and #TRE45ON ass-kisser, her thinking might be "Everyone needs to know how successful he was at getting Roe v Wade overturned." No doubt she has access to her husband's computer and files.

Agreed. There are pro-women’s rights Republicans.

Sure seems like you thought Ginni Thomas was pro-women's rights, and that she leaked it because she was pro-women's rights...so you're trying to pin it on the left again because you don't want to accept the fact that the GOP and Conservatives as a whole are completely and totally fascist.

Because admitting that would basically undermine every bOtHSIdEriST position you express here.

To maximize time to ramp up support. The more time, the better.

What makes you think this?

The more time, the worse because it moves out of the news cycle.

It's not going to be news in June when they release the formal decision, so electorally, how does that benefit Democrats this November?

This won’t be the only event leading up to November, but it’s a good starting point since it’s clear evidence all the predictions about a RW SCOTUS supporting a RW theocratic America are true.

I'm old enough to remember like, 6 months ago when you accused me of overreacting to the GOP's slide into fascism and/or tried to draw a false equivalence with the ambiguous "left".

Your leap of logic her is one reason why I believe you are a young, inexperienced, less-than-college educated woman.

No, I don’t believe Ginni is pro-woman’s rights* and I don’t believe she is stupid enough to think leaking the document is a good idea.

*at least not all women. She certainly supports her own rights and the rights of RW women elitists who can send their daughters to a nice Euro hospital for a clean, safe abortion if necessary. Mostly, however, they simply have access to good medical care and safe, effective contraceptives plus the education to use them.

Unmarried young pregnant women is a chain that traps them into poverty and servitude. Slavery is illegal but as both the refusal to initiate immigration reform proves and their stance on abortion proves, the Republican agenda is to keep and maintain a servant class.

You can't help but blame the ambiguous "left" for everything because admitting the right has gone full fascist would completely and totally undermine this phoney baloney BoTHSiDeS bullshit you've made a key piece of your character.

Correction: you don't believe it NOW, after I pointed out your ignorance around her.

Secondly, she was stupid enough to converse via text message with Meadows in her coup plot, which is why her husband is the only justice who voted against making those communications available to the Jan 6 committee.

So why wouldn't she be dumb enough to do this?

It takes time to prepare rallies and protests. While some happen on the spur of the moment, they are often only local in nature. An organized national protest takes time for planning and raising money.

You overreact to a lot of things, LV, as demonstrated in your “misstatements” about me today. Please cite the quote because I do not trust your ability to remain logical versus your clear demonstration of being overly emotional.

QED

I say yes. There is nothing for Democrats to gain by leaking this document. Americans are opposed to overturning Roe v. Wade. Therefore public opinion is not going to change the minds of any of the Five Fucktards that make up the majority of the court. So the most likely reason for leaking the documents was to keep the pressure on those justices NOT to change their minds in some back room deal. And Republicans are dishonest and lack integrity. So it was obviously one of their own that did this.

Discuss

your falling right into the racist white man trap...................discuss the leaker instead of what was leaked.

white people will let them get away with this.........................................blacks are fucked!

We have no idea and the dump shits are pretending it’s obviously a Democrat, because that’s the talking point. Talk about anything but the substance.

the racist white republican men are the only cowards who hide behind leak and lies to fool white people into believing their scheems, scams, and slick shit.

Disagreed, but everyone on this forum who read the conversation can make their own decision on the matter. I’m good with that.

You are free to leap to whatever conclusions you desire.

She was stupid enough to believe the coup would work but smart enough to know destroying evidence would send her to prison.

She’s a lawyer so she’s not stupid, just “off”. People can be smart, educated and insane just like people can be stupid, poorly educated and completely sane. They are all different qualities that make up individual human beings.

Agreed.

OTOH, the odds favor the leaker is someone who favors supporting a woman’s right to choose.

While I doubt Concart is falling into a trap, obviously the RWers want to make the conversation about the leaker not the facts.

to say this, you must believe that the majority of Americans favor the overturn of this law.

Fairly unintelligent observation. In the first place, it's well known a majority of Americans do not favor overturning the law. Secondly, the member's stated reason for his theory depends on Roe being widely favored by Americans. If Roe were unpopular that would create no pressure to change an opinion opposing it.

Why do you think those are the odds?

Because it would be extremely stupid for an anti-abortionist to tip the hand of SCOTUS thus giving the pro-choice Americans, about 67% of voters IIRC, time to organize and protest it prior to the decision itself and the midterms.

Agreed.

Gimps are trolls and rarely honest or logical. Zymurgy is a gimp.

The right did this

To try and get it talked out before the election

If it came down in June it would have left a whole summer of protests right before the election

It’s how their voters brains work

They get fired up

Then after awhile they can be distracted away by some other issue

The republicans play their base like a fiddle

They don’t understand non cult people anymore

I believe that she would and possibly did. If so it would be a good reason to impeach Thomas, or at the very least ban him from voting on Roe v Wade.

Or maybe they thought it would cement the decision, because of pressure on some justices not to change their minds... or the other theory, that the story would die down before November, a life time away in politics...

Possible, but that would be extremely stupid of them to believe. I doubt any extremely stupid people work at SCOTUS.

Time will tell since I have no doubt the leaker will be caught.

She was stupid enough to believe the coup would work but smart enough to know destroying evidence would send her to prison.

Which is why she had her husband vote against making those communications available to the Jan 6 committee...so since she was a political operative then, why wouldn't she also be one now?

Who, other than the clerks, has unfettered access to SCOTUS Justices? Their spouses and family, of course.

And which SOCTUS justice's family and/or spouses are political operatives? Just Thomas.

It doesn't make sense for anyone OTHER than Ginni Thomas to leak it. We already know she treats SCOTUS as her personal pin cushion since she got her husband to vote to keep her texts hidden.
