It is settled law until it is overturned. Plessy was settled law for over 50 years before it was overturned.

The US Constitution is the supreme law of the land............R v W was a politically contrived decision that needed overturning. Lying to defend the Constitution is not only defensible, it's required.

Plessy was settled law. Do you think the SC should not have overturned it? Or interracial marriage? Or laws against homosexual conduct?
The hearings are stupid and should not include questions about specific cases because any new cases on that issue could contain completely different facts and legal issues. Those questions are just trying to generate support or opposition to the candidate and the candidate will always seek to avoid being pinned down.
Saying that it's settled law means he will not vote to overturn it.

Which threshold are you referring to?
Roe v Wade states that after 26 weeks abortions are illegal. I don't mind seeing it being reduced to 20 weeks.
Most abortions are done within 8-10 weeks anyway so I have no clue why they are screeching about it. It changes nothing.
I understand. Roe doesn't set any threshold for making abortion illegal. It says states cannot prohibit abortions the first trimester, they can regulate but not prohibit the second trimester, and can prohibit the third trimester. It is up to the states whether they do so or not.
Roe was based on viability, and since medical science has extended viability, it would make sense to lower it. However, one reason I didn't like Roe was because I don't think the Constitution sets any time limits for such an issue--that is a reason stretch for the court to suggest that is a constitutional issue.
