Walt Disney Company’s chief corporate affairs officer is stepping away after three months of fighting against Florida’s Parent Rights in Education Act.

Geoff Morrell reportedly said that after discussing the situation with CEO Bob Chapek, he realized he was not the “right fit” for the public relations position.

"After three months in this new role, it has become clear to me that for a number of reasons it is not the right fit," Morrell reportedly wrote to his Disney colleagues on Friday. "After talking this over with Bob, I have decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities."

Kristina Schake is set to take Morrell’s place. She was hired at the beginning of April to help quell the backlash that Disney faced from conservatives for being too “woke.”

Schake has served as a special assistant to former President Barack Obama and worked as communications director to then-first lady Michelle Obama.

She was also the deputy communications director for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign. Additionally, she was recently tapped by President Joe Biden to lead the federal government’s COVID-19 vaccine education campaign.

That's the Left for you. They can't see the opposition for all their protest signs, so-to-speak. When it comes to discussions with the Left they are stone deaf to anything that doesn't mesh with their own views.

The dude had a sudden flash of clarity. Nothing wrong with that. Good for him.

Florida better hope Disney doesn't exit Florida, and I can see a lot of major corporations just dying to relocate there knowing that unless you kiss the Governor's ass he will bring down the power of the State upon you. And to think, at one time Republicans said they believed in Government noninterference

Dont make the mistake of assuming that Disney is sorry for going WOKE, as they are most likely sorry that they did it so visibly, created so much resistance. I dont see any evidence that they are changing their minds about where they want America to go, or their willingness to assist in the effort.

Disney can't afford to exit Florida. They have billions invested there, and claim they owe upwards of a billion in bond and other debt instruments they're paying on. Maybe they could get Elon Musk to buy them out there too...?

Those bonds are now the responsibility of the Florida legislature and the residents of counties around Disneyworld. Wonder how that's going to play come election time.

Barely if at all. Let's say the payoff period of those bonds is 50 years total. That means the state of Florida hits Disney for say, 25 million in taxes on their property per year. Disney ends up paying for those bonds in totality just as they would have if they were still responsible for them. This is the sort of stupidity you get--that Florida will end up paying and getting nothing--when you let liars... err, lawyers... with liberal arts degrees do math and accounting. They're idiots.

States do not impose property taxes, my little Einstein. Every resident in that area is looking to a 20-25% increase in their tax bill. Another example of this legislature shooting from the hip without any idea of their consequences.

They have a unique situation there in that the creative side of the business is rather heavily populated by folks 'on the other team'. In as much as creativity is at the heart of what they do they can ill afford to alienate those folks. Best they can do is move them to Cali but thats easier said than done.

Then the state imposes a tax on the corporation itself in equal amount. Basically, Disney is going to get fucked either way. It won't be coming out of state income taxes. It's going to be applied against Disney who right now is paying the state of Florida zero. Disney won't win on this one.

Sweetie, Disney pays Florida close to a billion each year in state and local taxes. But you say Disney doesn't pay anything? You know shit, go back to baking cookies, you are so far out of your league.
