No, they're not. There is power in an incumbency as shown in the common trend of reelecting those already in office. There are rare exceptions, but the tendency is reelection. Why? Power of the incumbency.

I read the flaws in your opinion. Harris was never elected POTUS. She was soundly rejected, and was thrust upon the nation as VP.

What makes you think that Biden quitting will make her the incumbent in the hearts of the nation?

It's a matter of balance. What good does raking in $100M do you when you owe $400M? It still ends in default.


Trump's salient quality is his salesmanship. He's very good at it. Although I disagreed with his politics, his bigotry and hatred of others, I was duly impressed by his ability to work a crowd, to respond to them as they respond to him. He's very good on stage.
