DeSantis and his Republican yes men are signaling the end of the conservative ideal of limited government, which was always a hoax anyway. They only wanted it when not in power themselves. But DeSantis is telling us the mask is gone and he's probably correct. If another Trump gets the Presidency and Republicans get the Congress you can watch the demise of democracy in America, at least at the federal level. Democrat states will carry the torch and The Constitution will be an obstacle to a wider tyranny but it will be a different country.

Aside from that, Disney as a corporation is based out of Burbank California so revenue from Disney World leaves the state in any case. So, taxing Disney on their revenue made in Florida makes great sense. Florida's government stands to profit from that and an evil Big Corporation is forced to pay their fair share.

Disney no longer has the special tax status and immunities (which is a form of socialism). It is now just like any other business in Florida (capitalism).

DeSantis has supported a bill to remove the special tax and immunity status of Disney World. Both houses passed the bill and DeSantis signed it. It is now law. Disney now is just like any other business in Florida.

Yeah. I'll bash Democrats. You constantly whine about special treatment of corporations, but you whine like idiots when someone like DeSantis ends special treatment for a corporation.

The bill is now law, But you should read it, it’s similar to Brexit in that there is a very wide latitude for negotiations between Disney and the state over the next two years, those negotiations could very well end up with Disney having more special treatment rather than less.
