We are accepting, the Republicans celebrating a Governor punishing private enterprise for disagreeing with him!

It’s shocking to me that this is not huge shocking news , and that those who claim to be Capitalist and hate socialism are supporting it.

Not the America I grew up in for sure.

It’s like they took the very worst of what happens in a socialist state and decided that was the one thing they were going to support!
 
I thought Democrats loved taxing giant corporations. I thought Dems hated corporations getting "special " treatment. Hmmm
 
What happened to Americans? We’re going to allow the government to bully private enterprise for their political opinions? We are going to punish political dissent and celebrate that punishment?

Why are you intentionally trying to conflate issues? I’m not necessarily opposed to repealing the “special“ treatment, I’m against doing it to punish political dissent, and you should be also!

I thought the Left and Democrats LOVED it when a politician raised taxes and punished a Big Corporation by making them pay their "fair share" to the state...

It's more shocking that those who hate Capitalism and love Socialism are supporting a Big Corporation that wasn't paying the state a dime in taxes because of a sweetheart deal made over 50 years ago finally got it stuck to them.

No, I haven't taken a position on the Florida - Disney thing. I've only commented on how the Left did a 180 on their usual stance on Big Corporations because Disney is woke even as Disney in Florida pays no taxes to the state prior to that legislation that just passed. If that were Exxon Mobile, the same retards would be celebrating. Seems to me their politics trump their economics or sense of equality, justice, and fairness...

Parents have the right to input as to what is taught to their children.

The governor of Florida is a hero.

if Jarot wasn't so ignorant of what is really going on he would understand it better and his posts wouldn't look so stupid.......especially since we corrected his errors on the first five threads he started on the same topic.....

I think DeSantis is taking political advantage of a situation in a way that does two things:

Smacks Disney down hard for getting into a political fight they should have stayed away from--Yes, I know they did it because the Left can't help themselves from picking this sort of fight and not recognizing the potential consequences.

and

Gets a huge tax increase in revenue for the state of Florida. Disney is going to have to cough up tens of millions, at a minimum, in taxes now.

It's a win-win for DeSantis and Florida. Disney loses a free ride deal because of their political shit stirring. It's all Disney's fault too and another example of how the Left lives in an echo chamber not realizing that their politics only appeals to about 20% of the population. I'd also note that Disney, unless their management is totally insane--a distinct possibility if they continue to hew to Leftist politics--can't bail on Florida either. They've got far too much invested in Disney World to close and move. So, DeSantis, whatever you think of him personally, has got Disney by the balls with a vice grip.
