ATLANTA — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, testifying Friday about her alleged role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol as part of a case seeking to disqualify her from seeking reelection, said she could not remember whether she urged President Donald Trump to impose martial law as a way to remain in power.

“I don’t recall,” Greene (R-Ga.) said in response to questioning by an attorney representing the plaintiffs in the case.

“So you’re not denying you did it?” asked the attorney, Andrew G. Celli Jr. “You just don’t remember?”

“I don’t remember,” Greene replied.

If Marjorie racks her brains(?), she might remember saying: "Mr President, you should declare marital law! And send in the Gazpacho."

She was close to presidential thinking there. Actually Trump was considering the Vichyssoise.

Greene is sludge...and one of the prominent faces of today's Republican Party...which itself is composed mostly of sludge right now.

Oh well, I’d better tell the truth.

I don’t know if Ms Greene urged the defeated president to declare martial law, as Michael Flynn certainly did. But whether she did or didn’t, I don’t believe she could have FORGOTTEN. She was lying under oath. Clear?

Amazing how many Republican members of Congress can't remember what they said on January 6th and the immediate aftermath. Jim Jordan. Kevin McCarthy. Lindsey Graham. And now MTG. I wonder if the amnesia is contagious.
