It is time just to admit DeSantis does not have the evidence

Q: Do you live in Florida? A: Hell no you don't

If we start allowing some states to secretly ban books, or arrest people in secret laws, then all states will lose their freedom sooner or later.

Lets say that Florida decides to make a law about posting against DeSantis. The Full Faith Clause of the Constitution would require Pennsylvania to extradite me to Florida. The time to fight this is at the beginning, not from some concentration camp in the Florida swamp.

Or put another way, you say that the textbooks used in Florida, and Pennsylvania are full of secret teachings that are destroying America. Wouldn't it be good for me to know about them?

He’s limited the selection to one textbook company in Texas, this is highly unusual, something smells here. Big DeSantis donor?

I doubt that. For one thing, he's not personally involved in the selection process.

Plus, 41% cannot be 1 publisher in Texas, unless you use "Common Core" math.

According to the 2nd link below, 54 is 41% of something. :D So there are more than 100 options. Apparently 132 : https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/education/article260520672.html

Here's some reading so people know what's going on vs. what's being claimed:

Oh! By the way, here's the approved and not approved textbooks:

Not approved: https://www.fldoe.org/core/fileparse.php/5574/urlt/2122MathInstructMatNotRecList.pdf

Turns out it IS public info.

For one thing because it's an ongoing deal and nothing is done yet. The publisher must meet the state standards or be rejected. During the review process is not the time for things to be public.

DeSantis made it public when his office issued a press release and he made a speech. This blowup isn't about education but about scoring political points with vague attacks on liberal areas of the culture, such as public education, and employing code words like "woke" and "grooming". Trump is a master of this deliberately thoughtless approach and DeSantis not only is following in his wake but might outdo him.

It’s funny, because DeSantis’ administration isn’t even telling the publishers why they were rejected. It just smells.

What math books would you like to see reinstated...and why? Did he personally reject the texts...or was there a committee who evaluated them and then made the decision?
of course. salty is desperate to somehow blame DeSantis.

Matt, that was from last year, the school year the text are being chosen for is 2022-23

Why put those questions to the forum? Answer: they aren't questions, they're a diversion, an attempt at political protection in a political forum. And a witless effort.
be careful on the witless talk with a post like this. salty is trying to politicize this when clearly its a process.
he's more desperate then a hanger on at a single's bar at closing time

The committee has a selection process some books failed, and it says why.

DeSantis is scoring personal political points with it, you could also say. The blame is attached by those he doesn't care about. In fact, their animosity only enhances his standing with his clueless admirers.

We are not allowed to even know, which math books were rejected and specifically why. Non-specific allegations can never be disproved, because in essence they have never been made.

Lets say we call for all the retired teachers to be executed, because some unknown teacher may have committed a crime at some time... But with no specifics, no evidence, no even accusations. Then I ask you to specifically prove all teachers innocent. You might be able to prove one teacher innocent of a specific crime, the teacher was out of town at the time, or whatever. But, you cannot prove any teacher innocent for a lifetime.

DeSantis has learned at the feet of the masters of his strategy: Hitler and Putin. He is moving closer to closer to genocide, now that he is openly burning books.
Oh gee some math books didn't make the mark to be considered to be purchased by the state of Florida. Big deal. The state of Florida ALWAYS rejects the majority of math books that they review. No big deal. Rewrite the areas of the book that the state objects to and resubmit submit them again next year. Math books like the news should be right down the middle. You wouldn't want math books with a pro MAGA Trump slant.

You see that link at the bottom of the post you quoted? That says specifically why the text was rejected.

Apparently it said "Be outraged at DeSantis".

You claim that DeSantis has evidence that American children are being brainwashed for evil, and is withholding it... I would think you would be outraged.

I still believe this in particular will blow over. DeSantis will fight for as long as he can, with taxpayer dollars, to keep the specifics secret. When he fails, he will give in and unban all the books.

But in the long term, it will have dire consequences. DeSantis will continue to fight to bring down American freedom.

And even in the short term there are issues. The northeast is stuck paying a lot in federal taxes to prop up Florida.

You want me to give you a link to something I do not know... Shouldn't you give me a link proving that you supposedly know?

I got all kinds of links, boy. What do you want to know? :D

Be advised: I do not have a link to "Why is OP a faggot?" :dunno:

So you're oblivious to what happened in Virginia, huh? I'm not surprised.

Wtf is this "Northeast Federal tax" bullshit? You derailing your own thread because it was self-owning from the jump?
