So until he does, we have to assume that Scott's plan is the GOP plan.

It is ironic since Scott's medical company was nailed for the biggest Medicare fraud case in history. He got his.

I wonder if these repuke degenerates realize that destroying the wellbeing of society would also destroy the economy to a certain degree because earned Social Security income feeds the economy for without which, would devastate the economy including the Medicare grand larcenist Rick Scott the sleaze ball's Florida's economy and also result in other devastating impacts on the stability to sustain a nation, and possible impact foreign economies too as a result of Social Security beneficiaries traveling abroad. Yet obviously repukes are and have always been on a bloody rampage against Democracy, society and humanity. When President Obama was POTUS and repukes in the House and Senate were on a terrible assault against him, his administration and society, and on a bloody rampage against Social Security, their diabolical ploy blew up on their repuke hides and to which considering President Obama was subjected to a hostile repuke environment to deal with both in the House and Senate, he was compelled by necessity to stave off their seditious and heinous assaults on Democracy with executive orders. Vote blue wave in order to stave off the toxic and rancid red wave from the sewer.

Questions for you: Do you plan to live on nothing but social security and Medicare when you retire / get old? Would you willingly chose to do so if you had choices?

What's it to you? Yet, people who work a majority of their lives paying their FICA taxes have earned their right to retire on Social Security and Medicare too without destructive threats among taxpayer pilfering repukes, which is a legacy of President FDR. You might be sitting on a gold mine, but most Americans as former hard workers are not as privileged as you think you are who have earned their retirement income. Social Security is not some free money welfare system but is paid for by hard working taxpayers, which should be part of a lockbox in order to be shielded from the treasonous and taxpayer looting repuke cartel. Actually, it is the repuke party that should be called a worthless clump of a welfare basket case who loot the taxpayer while doing nothing to earn it. Also, to which repukes might be too stupid or overlooked the fact that the Social Security is not part of the general fund, and that Social Security based on new legislation. Who is in control of the Social Security Administration?

It makes a difference as you are arguing that social security and Medicare are programs that are central and critical to someone's retirement and that they should be inviolate.

Only a fool or the indolent and stupid end up relying on nothing but these mediocre programs for their retirement, that's why I figured you were doing just that.

You realize that many people still work despite being retired, right? So your point falls flat. Your troll question is denied.

I have a relative that worked until she was in her 80's and in the process paid her FICA taxes too. Many elderly people live longer when they are not confined with the idle time of being bored but live longer when they feel they are being productive citizens for as long as they can.

Of course not, I have retirement savings in IRA's and 401k's...but that's only because I earned enough to put into savings. If I didn't, then I probably would need to rely on SS as income, and would work until I qualified for the max benefit.

Fortunately, it isn't as important for me to get that max benefit because of what I have saved plus the equity in my home, which I own.

But I recognize that most workers are not in that boat, do not get paid enough where they can save for retirement, and have to work until they reach the max benefit status...the problem with that is that it hinders elasticity in the labor market where you have older workers staying on the job for longer instead of retiring and clearing a path for the next generation to advance in their careers.
