Fusion research is a waste of time and money. Fusion will always require more energy to produce than it emits. And then there's the deadly gamma rays produced.

We will never be able to send living organisms thru a wormhole either.

Under Bush jr., the Feds gave a billion $ for hydrogen fuel research. It seems that money was wasted.

research is never a total waste. There is much learned.

There is absolutely no doubt that fusion reactors are in the offing, wait till 2025 when ITER is operational.

The warp bubble is real though. I always love when folks say stuff like this. Bill Gates saying nobody will ever need more than a Megabyte of memory always comes to mind.

Before there were planes there were folks out there with just as much surety telling us how we'll never be flying between continents, and that "germs" weren't real and we'd never be able to prove they were...

Predictions of the future are not the stuff of science. We can't do these things now because of the energy cost issue, but the future is simply not something you can predict because you have no idea what out of the box awesomeness the next Nikola Tesla will come up with.

The production of windmills, solar panels, and electric cars is not very green.

An EV has to go 80,000 miles before it becomes greener than an IC vehicle.

They've been built before by other countries. Doesn't mean they are safe or economical on an industrial scale.

And why is it still almost never in the news? You'd think it would have endless research funding given the predictions.
