Mike Lindell admits to crime while insulting reporter

The gift ban is actually part of the Constitution of Colorado.
https://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/info_center/laws/COConstitution/ArticleXXIX.html

While there don't appear to be criminal penalties for Lindell, this is the penalty for accepting the money from Lindell.
Section 6. Penalty

Any public officer, member of the general assembly, local government official or government employee who breaches the public trust for private gain and any person or entity inducing such breach shall be liable to the state or local jurisdiction for double the amount of the financial equivalent of any benefits obtained by such actions. The manner of recovery and additional penalties may be provided by law.
If she takes $800,000 from Lindell, she owes the local government $1.6 million.

As an aside, here is the former Democratic governor being fined twice the cost of a plane trip for violating the gift ban.

Lindell also admits to giving her plane rides on his private jet

That is also covered under amendment 41

Did you read the link about the Palin case? Because it supports my position that there is no problem donating to a legal defense fund. Palin was given bad advice and set it up improperly.

Alaska isn't Colorado.

And the link doesn't support your claim when it comes to Colorado.
The story about Palin says this:
A preliminary ruling by another independent counsel last year said the fund was illegal because it used her official position as governor to raise money for her personal gain.
That would show that a legal defense fund is considered personal gain. In Palin's case the problem wasn't the personal gain but the use of her office.

Colorado has different rules. Any amount over $65 given as a gift that results in personal gain is banned while in a political office or employed in a government position.
https://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/info_center/laws/COConstitution/ArticleXXIX.html
That means any contribution over $65 to a defense fund would be illegal under the Colorado Constitution.

As an public employee she is not allowed to accept gifts or cash valued at more than $65 unless it is from family/friends. The $800,000 violates that state law. It seems that both the giver and the recipient have violated CO state law.

Dark Soul doesn't care. That's a reason why he's a dark soul; because he supports evil and corruption in government.

Is Ms. Peters still in office, or just running for higher office? I guess any wrongdoing will come down to when she started receiving funds.

I wasn't the one who diverted to Palin. Try and keep up.

We know she was still in office when she was on Lindell's plane. I'm not sure if she is still in her county office but she was indicted for her actions as a county clerk.

It's most likely then that she was still a public employee when she violated Colorado's ethic statutes. Good. Bye, Felicia.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell says he gave $800K to Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters' defense fund, a violation of Colorado law

The asshole admits he gave and elections person who is being investigated for messing with election equipment to steal the information on them 800,000 dollars for her defense

He calls the reporter an idiot for asking

Then he admits clearly that he never met her

And calls the reporter stupid for asking that question

It’s illegal to give more than 65 dollars to them unless you know them

He just admitted he committed an 800,000 dollar crime

The largest of its type in Colorado history

This is a shame, because clearly the guy has a head for business, created a product that people like, and create jobs for people to produce, sell and distribute said product.

But as always, intellect is no indicator of morality, or for that matter sanity.
