Russia attacking it's neighbor is frowned upon. The 'Empire Building' and 'Colonialization of Other Lands' is suppose to be illegal. Putin is fucking up the World Order.
The United Nations needs to take a more active role in this.

The citizens of the Soviet Union never lost their moral credibility for their herioc defence against the invading legions of genocidal Nazis

The Nazis practically walked into Paris on a whim; Prague, Copenhagen, Vienna submitted with barely a shot fired. But Russian citizens hunkered down in the bombed out rubble of Leningrad and starved for three years rather than submit to the Nazi hordes at the gate.

Those are iconic stories in the conscience of Russia, and even in the estimation of world history.

The smouldering ruins of Kharkiv and Marupiel rob the Russians of whatever moral credibility their herioc defense against Hitler bestowed upon them.

Even if it weren't, WWII was a long time ago. Germany is no longer a pariah. The Japanese are actually liked as long as they do not try to ignore their history.
