WASHINGTON, April 3 (Reuters) - The congressional panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by former President Donald Trump's supporters is aiming to hold public hearings on their findings in May, U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin told CBS on Sunday.

"The hearings should be in early May. That's what I'm hoping for. Obviously we're up against a lot of obstruction," said Raskin, a member of the House Select Committee on Jan. 6.

Unless those hearings result in criminal referrals and arrest warrants against tRump and his band of seditious repuke criminals against humanity, what's the point?
 
Capitol attack panel scores two big wins as it inches closer to Trump’s inner circle

The panel has scored two major wins in recent days: more than six hours of testimony from Donald Trump’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, and a conclusion by a federal judge that the former president committed felonies to overturn the 2020 election.

Members on the select committee believe Kushner’s cooperation might prompt other Trump officials to assist the investigation as the panel inches closer to Trump’s inner circle and the former president himself, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The House panel does not have the authority to pursue criminal charges, but it can provide the Justice Department with evidence of any wrongdoing it unearths in its investigation.
