"Republican-controlled states have higher murder rates than Democratic ones"

"Republican politicians routinely claim that cities run by Democrats have been experiencing crime waves caused by failed governance, but a new study shows murder rates are actually higher in states and cities controlled by Republicans"

"A comparison of violent crime rates in jurisdictions controlled by Democrats and Republicans tells a very different story. In fact, a new study shows that states won by Trump in the 2020 election have higher murder rates than those carried by Joe Biden. The highest murder rates, the study found, are often in conservative, rural states."

"Murder rates in the 25 states Trump carried in 2020 are 40% higher overall than in the states Biden won"

"Although murder rates tend to be highest in the South, the biggest increases in 2020 were found in the Great Plains and Midwest, according to Third Way. The largest jumps were in Wyoming (91.7% higher than in 2019), South Dakota (69%), Wisconsin (63.2%), Nebraska (59.1%) and Minnesota (58.1%). Wyoming, South Dakota and Nebraska all voted for Trump and have Republican governors."

"Few large cities are governed by Republicans — only 26 of the 100 largest U.S. cities have Republican mayors — making apples-to-apples comparisons difficult. But cities that do have Republican mayors do not have lower murder rates than similarly sized Democratic-led cities, the study found."

Called common sense, coupled with the previous topic I just posted ("Adults who live with a gun owner face twice the risk of death by homicide" - https://www.latimes.com/science/sto...wner-face-twice-the-risk-of-death-by-homicide). not rocket science, the more guns present, the more gun violence, and as we know, those gun free Red States love their guns

But the right keep telling us, the more guns the better

Appears “pp” has problems reading

“ But there is a large piece of the homicide story that is missing and calls into question the veracity of the right-wing obsession over homicides in Democratic cities: murder rates are far higher in Trump-voting red states than Biden-voting blue states. And sometimes, murder rates are highest in cities with Republican mayors.”

“For example, Jacksonville, a city with a Republican mayor, had 128 more murders in 2020 than San Francisco, a city with a Democrat mayor, despite their comparable populations. In fact, the homicide rate in Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco was half that of House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy’s Bakersfield, a city with a Republican mayor that overwhelmingly voted for Trump. Yet there is barely a whisper, let alone an outcry, over the stunning levels of murders in these and other places.”

Yeah, no. Democrat run cities have higher murder rates, dumbass.

Guns are just a tool, teaching children to be good and productive people is not something Democrats are good at.

Neither is bringing home game or caught fish for dinner. It is what it is. :dunno:

Jeez! Of course they do. Red States have more people deserving to be shot. Duh!

Additionally, as follows:

How Republicans Are Killing Their Supporters
Right-wing anti-vaxxers help cause more deaths of Republicans nationally and in Wisconsin.

With the Supreme Court reconsidering Roe v. Wade, Republicans self-identify as the party that supports a right to life. In the case of the pandemic, however, they have become the party of sickness and death. Strangely, the people they have most effectively afflicted are their own supporters.

The proposition that the Republican Party has become a death cult is supported by the chart below. It shows that the stronger a state’s Trump support in the 2020 presidential election, the higher the number of residents suffering a COVID-19 infection.
The vertical scale in the chart shows the percentage of state residents that were diagnosed with Covid between April and the end of November of this year. I chose April 2021 as the starting point because that was the month when Covid vaccines were made available to any adult who chose to get them."

Poor anchovies. Keep your liberal ass out of red states and tell your friends and we both will be happier.

Wrong.

Jacksonville is 60% or more black. Most likely the blackest city in the US. What's the population diference between there and San Franshitsco?

I'd pick Jacksonville over S.F., because I'd know what I was getting.

offset by your problem thinking rationally.........."some" translates easily as "infrequently"......not "usually"......

Wordplay is a retreat for weak minds, and looking at political party leadership and not at the nature of the population base for the answer is also for dummies. Rural rednecks have much in common with the ghetto
black teenagers they despise.

Americans have known that for years. Well, the ones who don't watch FoxNews have known it.

I'm curious to see if the Republican denial of the COVID virus and the subsequent deaths of their voters will have an effect on the election this November.

What is the "urban shithole" in Wyoming and South Dakota?
The whole state of Wyoming has less than 20 murders its about a 5th the population of Chicago and a 5th of Chicago's murders would be around 160 murders. I'll take my chances in Wyoming.

According to the stats, WY is more dangerous for gun violence than Chicago.
