You need healthy intelligent children so they can become healthy intelligent adults is you want a first world society to live in
 
Yes even you greed monsters who want most people to be your half slaves

Interesting effect. IQ is always problematic in measuring because it's based on culture and education; can't take a written test if the person can't read no matter how smart they are.

Nutrition and medicine from pre-natal to old age are also factors which may explain the differences between humans on various continents.

That said, if IQ is likened to running the Boston Marathon, then as nutrition, medicine and education/training increase, the average running times of top participants will increase over time. There are still the categories of the top runners, the bottom runners and the huge mass of the majority in the middle.

While comparing old scores from 50 years to new scores is interesting, a modern person's placement will still be comparative to the average of now, not 50 years ago. This goes for promotions, success in busines or the arts, everything. The comparisons are to each other now, not some dumbass in 1932.
