You don't seem to understand about old timers. There are a over 94 million people in the US that are 55 and older. 3 million of them watch Fox News. That is less than 5% of old timers.
More old timers watch 60 Minutes every week.

24 million people watch the nightly news on the 3 big networks which is 8 times what watch Fox. While FOX may have a lock on the crazy and senile audience, it is not a very big audience compared to the US. More people watch "Young Sheldon" than watch Fox News.

They are all infotainment vehicles, designed to appeal to a select audience, the same people watch the same channels the vast majority of the time and few Americans look to them for real news.

Just ask yourself, who in the hell, with all the alternatives out there during prime time, sit infront of a TV and watch a talking head bloviate, especially given the viewer knows what he/she is going to say? As Imus commented once on his show being on cable, what kind of idiot would sit and watch a radio show on TV

Unlike its competitors, Fox gained viewers relative to Q1 2021. The network grew +3% in total primetime viewers, +10% in the primetime demo, +22% in total day viewers and +28% in total day demo. Q1 ’21 was an outlier quarter for Fox, one where it finished behind CNN and MSNBC in total day viewing for the first time in decades. Things appear to have returned to normal on the cable news Nielsen ratings front.

During the first quarter of 2022, all FNC weekday programs posted increases with total viewers and the 25-54 demo.
