That's a very astute observation.
I am a very astute observer. I have often seen that some people just don't get it.

No astute enough to observe that I was obviously being sarcastic. LOLI am a very astute observer. I have often seen that some people just don't get it.
I guess they wouldn't be in prison if they didn't torture anybody, as PMP alleges.

well, let's see...
1. I have said my definition of torture includes causing harm.
2. They killed him.
~ I think we can conclude that would fall within my definition of "torture"
I asked if making a man stand on a box with a bag over his head was torture....I didn't ask if killing a man was torture...(though I will note that chaining a man with his hands over his head isn't an act you would naturally assume would cause death)....
I will stand behind the fact that neither the photo of the man on the box or your photo of a corpse was in fact evidence of torture....
We obviously were, and you weren't. LOLI think it was obvious that both you and Charver were being sarcastic. You missed one of those.
The photo of the man standing on the box with wires coming off his arms and going to the electrical conduits would certainly warrant a serious investigation.
If you wanted to determine who was tortured and who was not.
We obviously were, and you weren't. LOL
that's nice....not what the debate was about....but that's nice....ibbie had submitted the photo as PROOF of torture....that's why I asked him what I did......

I was hoping they would make a coffee table book with pictures from it!It's a pity the CIA accidentally destroyed the video of their Guantanamo 'interrogations' isn't it?
We could have happily ditched the photographs altogether, moved into the 21st Century, and enjoyed these exciting torture techniques in the comfort of our own homes on YouTube.
I answered your oversimplified question with the comment that it depended on the situation. That is what started the exchange between you and I.
A single photograph would not be proof unless more details were shown. But that picture is certainly evidence of torture.

my guess is that most folks, if placed in that same situation as the guy in the photo by enemies who had captured them and incarcerated them, would have a sense of severe mental suffering.... which meets the definition of torture which is part of the supreme law of OUR land.
I suppose we could have if 1) the video showed torture, and 2) we would have enjoyed it.....
We'll just have to rely on the dull military investigations to substantiate various torture allegations![]()
Congress and the justice department have already gone through this once.
