Rightys are not aware enough to figure that it was not a gaffe. he was sending Putin and Russia a message. They had others on staff to mitigate the message with an "oh, he did not mean that". He means it. Russia would be better off without King Putin. Biden suspects many oligarchs are not happy with all the money they are not making. There are even peaceniks in Russia. They are not all mindless warmongers. That is why Putin cracked down. He wants to kneecap any potential actions against him. Biden was spurring them on.
