He's an actor who chose to go public with his views and got a lot of blowback in the UK. You can't blame Americans for what happened. And just because he's a famous comedian doesn't mean he's shielded from criticism. Look at what happened to Mel Gibson after he came out with anti-Semitic remarks, he got well-deserved flak for them. Look at Jane Fonda, the Dixie Chicks and others who suffered at the box office because of their outspokenness. Linehan is no martyr to free speech, he's just another hater and for no reason I can discern.
