My friend from Ukraine said that she sees NATO sitting at the borders, "watching people die," and doing nothing. So do we step in and stop Putin now before he moves on (if he does), and risk WWIII? Or do we wait and let the Ukrainians handle it?

I would not want to be a world leader and have such decisions.

Conducting intel for one side certainly is entering the war. I suspect that the CIA military is currently in Ukraine, which is also certainly entering the war.
