Trump’s violent political rhetoric is metastasizing in the Republican Party

Violent and threatening political rhetoric, normalized and encouraged by former president Donald Trump, is metastasizing in the Republican Party. As nearly a third of GOP voters tell pollsters that violence might be required to “save our country,” some officeholders and candidates who espouse menacing views are rewarded with fundraising and social media success. Too often, mainstream party leaders — the very voices who should be drawing the line at hate speech — are silent.

"Those are not isolated examples. Mr. Trump was reported to have been “delighted” by actual violence — his rioting supporters breaching the Capitol on Jan. 6 last year. And when Rep. Paul A. Gosar (Ariz.) tweeted an anime video doctored to portray him killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), just two fellow Republicans voted for a resolution to censure him in the House of Representatives.

History provides abundant evidence that rhetorical violence begets actual violence. By countenancing vile, dehumanizing, bloody-minded rhetoric, Republicans are paving a dangerous road to the future."

I don't even want to see some video of killing AOC, because that's pointless and beyond the pale; But yeah, when Democrats cheat elections and there is no real rule of law, it may take violence to put America back on the right track.

OP has paywall link. Fuck you with that! :fu:

Imagine if you had a recorded call of Biden, where he was asking an election official to "find" exactly the # of votes he'd need to win the state.

That is a non-big deal molehill that you are trying to make a mountain out of, and you're not going to be able to do it.

Pursue other avenues is my suggestion.

Imagine if you had emails and records of Hunter Biden and his cronies being the bagmen for his daddy selling the influence of his government seat to China.

Ask yourself: "What is Burisma?" "Why is Hunter Biden involved with it?"

"How does he have a paid job in Ukraine when he's not there?"

^Start there, gf.

If that's a molehill, then Trump has zilch for his "case."

I'll imagine it for you: if you had that recording of Biden, it would be the single biggest piece of evidence you had for "massive fraud" against Trump. Because right now, all you have is Trump saying so. And your gut feeling that there is "no way" he could have lost.

Far from being condemned for violent threats and hate speech, candidates and incumbents are increasingly being rewarded. One is Jarome Bell, who is vying for the GOP nomination in Virginia’s highly competitive 2nd Congressional District. He went a major step beyond the lie that Joe Biden stole the 2020 presidential election, calling for putting to death anyone convicted of voter fraud in a tweet in September: “Audit all 50 states. Arrest all involved. Try all involved. Convict all involved. Execute all involved.” Now Mr. Bell, who faces stiff competition in the party primary in June, has been endorsed by Republican Rep. Bob Good of Virginia.

Election fraud will bring that out in Americans, bitch!

If Biden wanted Unity and confidence in American elections, he could have the entire election audited and all corruption exposed, but he doesn't want that, baby.

No sir! The confidence in American elections is as low as it's ever been. Lemme put it to you this way: If nothing was wrong with 2020, the current government would want everything investigated to prove it was all on the up-and-up.

Then could an era of confidence in elections and American unity be established. Hoever, they would fight a thorough investigation into 2020 tooth and nail, and you know it, and you know why.

Trump tried to have 2016 election fraud investigated even though he won. Because he knew fraud was going on and needs to be stopped.

They fought him tooth and nail on it, and tbh, his investigative committee was asking the wrong questions. But here's the thing: Trump tried to investigate fraud in the 2016 election, even though he won.

Biden will never do anything of the sort.

The bolded is such backwards logic.

You know that investigations are expensive, right? Trump's own DHS already looked into it & said it was the most secure election in history, and his own AG said it was legit.

I think you're a good American, MD - but you're in the cult. You're not hearing anything else except for the bogus fraud stuff.

Trump Campaign Owes $300,000 in Legal Fees After Another Failed NDA Case

Donald J. Trump’s presidential campaign has been ordered to pay more than $300,000 in legal fees and expenses to a former employee who the campaign’s lawyers said had violated the terms of a nondisclosure agreement when she accused Mr. Trump of forcibly kissing her in 2016.

The award, the culmination of an arbitration claim that was dismissed in November, represents the latest instance of Mr. Trump’s failure to use a nondisclosure agreement successfully against an ex-worker.

Trump tried to find 2016 election fraud, even though he won:

You'll never see Biden do something like that.

Trump did it because he knew it was out there, and he was right. His commission asked for info that was too invasive, though. That was gone about wrong.

If I was governor, I would not have given them the seriously personal info they were asking for. If I was the head of that commission, I would not ask for that much personal info that's not germaine to the investigation.

It's almost like the insiders tanked it on purpose. I'm pretty sure Paul Ryan had Trump's ear in those days, and he's a swampy POS. He was most likely steering all that to failure.

Who loses? American citizens, that's who.

Trump did it because his vanity couldn't handle losing the popular vote. And they found nothing.

They still haven't found anything. This past election is the most investigated & scrutinized in history. There have been a few audits. They have found NOTHING.

It's damaging America to keep making these claims without hard evidence. The Big Lie is an escape fantasy for Republicans, who don't want to deal w/ the fact that they could have possibly lost an election.

I'm not privy to the evidence, but the situation speaks for itself. Biden could not/did not win until the all the actual votes were tallied and 2 weeks+ passed by. (During which time any kind of cheating desired could have gone on)
