Social Security Payments to Shrink for First Time in a Generation

Um... a union is an "association of workers for the purpose of improving their economic status and working conditions through collective bargaining with employers", according to West's Encyclopedia of American Law.

So, when they go on strike for a "living wage" or for benefits so that their bills are lower they are not complaining to their employer about their increased need for cash?

The job of the Union is to bargain (tell them you are not making enough) for you. But then, you don't really need a union to complain. You can do that anyway.

The seniors will see a decrease in the bottom line and that's all they care about. How are you going to convince them that this is Bush's fault? :)

Are you really unable to distinguish between "I want a raise because my bills went up" and "you cut my pay because my bills went up?"
 
President Obama will fix Social Security next year, after Congress passes health care reform, climate change regulations and stricter financial controls on Wall Street speculators.

I am clearly pointing out that you can indeed go and complain to your employer if such a thing happens, and that there is even a vehicle designed to do it for you.

the actual reductions in the checks are increased withholding for increased pill bill insurance premiums.

Well, those that see a decrease due to the Medicare prescription drug premium increase can certainly blame Bush. That was his baby.
 
Are we really to believe that the biggest anti-big government posters on this board are now the "champions of Social Security?"

That they would not have opposed S.S. with every fiber of their being, and by "any means necessary," when it was proposed?

we insist on getting what we paid for and were promised, regardless of the fact that we are opposed to the program.
