Its worth remembering that Americas military would almost certainly be improved if we off-loaded the top 50 Generals.
 
The truth is that in a war, few really know how it is going. Even those fighting it are only aware of their local battles. It is undeniable that Russia is destroying cities and killing citizens deliberately. It seems to be taking Putin a lot longer than he wanted. But even that is a rumor. Who knows what Putin thinks. He certainly did not make this attack to lose. I hope he does not get desperate and use battlefield nukes. A person willing to commit atrocities like this is not operating with feelings for his fellow man. If it looks like he could lose his control over Russia, he may go all out and end up the ruler of ashes.

Reports are that Putin has sacked multiple military and intel officers for poor performance. Compare that with how in the wake of the disastrously incompetent withdrawal from Afghanistan there was not so much as a single letter of reprimand.

Without the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact, most likely the Battle of Britain wouldn't have happened and the US would never have entered the war, at least in Europe anyway.

I never trust stories like that. I know our generals don't fight with the troops. They are way back passing out directions. I also read 8 Russian generals are killed. Maybe that includes the ones Putin is killing for bad results.

The whole United Nations were allies, including USSR, US, and Britain. Technically, Ukraine and Russia were part of the USSR, so both were included in that alliance.

Of these dead British generals, does having your aircraft shot down count as being killed in action ? What about having a heart attack ?

No- the Japanese surrendered after the US killed hundreds of thousands of their men, women and children with nuclear weapons, paleface.
The palefaces would have used them on the indigenous Americans if they'd been available at the time, right ?

Here is a list. Notice, that this is from the largest war the British Empire ever fought, and from 6 years of warfare. Notice all the Brigadiers on the list, a rank down from Major General. Russia has lost 3 Major Generals in less than 3 weeks of a relatively tiny war. Something is going very wrong with the Russian military. All the Russian Major Generals appear to have died from snipers.

Major General Harry Willans, Director General of Welfare and Education, was killed in a fatal accident at El Adem Airfield near Tobruk on February 5, 1943, while on his return journey from India and Assam battlefronts.

Brigadier Grenfell Horace Gerald Smith-Dorrien was killed in action on September 13, 1944 during the Italian campaign.

Major General Wilfred Lewis Lloyd, commanding officer of the Tenth Indian Division, was killed in an air crash in 1944.

Major General Arthur Edward Barstow, commanding officer of the Ninth Indian Division, was killed in an ambush by Japanese troops on January 28, 1942 while trying to cross a demolished bridge near Layang Layang Village in Malaya. At that time, he was trying to contact the Indian 22nd Infantry brigade which had become cut off from the rest of retreating British forces. The Japanese found his body.
