Murdoch hounded by lawsuits that could cost Fox News billions

(Eric Boehlert/Pressrun) This week, Justice David Cohen of State Supreme Court in Manhattan issued a stinging rebuke of Fox News. Denying the network’s attempt to dismiss a $2.7 billion lawsuit filed by Smartmatic, the election technology company that Fox smeared as part of Trump’s Big Lie offensive following the 2020 campaign, Cohen waved off Murdoch’s attorneys. The finding comes just three months after a judge in Delaware issued an identical ruling in another defamation lawsuit against Fox News, this one seeking $1.6 billion in damages. That one was brought by Dominion Voting Systems, which claimed Murdoch’s network smeared the election software company by casting it as a central villain in the GOP’s “rigged” charade.

That is the risk you take when you have talking heads lie day after day on TV. They lie because it helped trump and the other billionaires. That is who they work for, just like the Republican party does. however, these lies were hurting a company that sold election equipment. That was the point. They made them th face of their cheating lies . Now the station faces the music.

looks like Dominion is dead serious here as well.....it might take a while but they're going soak News Corpse for many hundreds of millions

You can never guess how a case will turn out. I do not see right-wing news lies that are videoed off TV as able to be covered up.
 
We all knew there was only so long FoxNews could lie, before they would have to pay the price.
 
FOX was reckless, a prime example of Trump's corrosive influence. For people who see through him it's hard to figure how he did it. I can't figure it at all.
