Nearly two million people have fled the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv’s mayor has said, as Russian forces advance on the city.

“From our information, one in two Kyiv residents has left the city,” Vitali Klitschko told Ukraine television on Thursday.

Maybe the Russians will hold back longer until the rest have left.
 
Let's hope so. Women and children just get in the way when the fighting starts. And, when the Power and Water get turned off, they complain about being cold and hungry.

Even if the West were to spend lavishly, which is expected, it would take a decade to rebuild Ukraine after Russia gets done with it. The people being spread far and wide helps with the infliction of pain, which is the mission.

Speaking from personal experience? Maybe if you'd get a job so you could pay your family's bills your wife and kids wouldn't be cold and hungry. They might even stop fighting with you.

Hawkeye says that was the plan from the beginning. The Russians were going to be decisively defeated, losing huge number of troops and resources, and looking like complete fools as part of their plan to secretly support Ukraine... Or something bizarre like that.

I can't understand how this 3rd rate , unpaid, General-less, unsupported , cowardly military is managing to consolidate for itself more territory daily . The city of Kherson has requested being taken into the Russian Federation. What sort of defeat is this ?
